Other Airgun Forums

Looks like death of internet forums is coming soon, I hate to see it. I remember when all this started, there were and I say WERE many knowledgeable forum members that posted daily information I would have payed for. Even youtubers, now famous spokesman for manufactures learned what they preach today from the knowledge gained from the oldtimers.

I wish for the good old days but it will not be back.

Maybe it is just me but I have noticed that other forums are super slow, I mean not much traffic as it used to be, the Yellow and TAG specially, are they dying like Airgun advice, What would you think is the cause of that? I like TAG, great people with lots of knowledge there.

On TAG I have tried several times to create a account.

Says administrator will activate account, and it never happens.

Tried emailing administrator, no reply.

If new members aren't able to become active, that's one way to slow down.

If anyone knows how to get in touch with administrators please let me know.

Try to contact Tony at Talon Tunes, he is the owner of the forum, he will help you out.

I will throw my 2 cents in for what its worth. The yellow was good...over moderation drove alot of very smart people away. That and a lot of.... I thought it up first and you copied it.... The banning of Tim McMurray and that whole fiasco...Steve the Man...the green because of age of platform. Same with the Diana site. Now the AVA is active and great for older gun guys. AGN in my opinion had a bit of over mod in the beginning it was noted on other forums but has leveled out and is the leading airgun fourm at this time. Again IMO.

oh I think Tapatalk is I big reason and before that Photobucket hurt the old posters by loosing all of the pictures, all the time and effort and help lost, oh the text is there but the pictures told the story

I go through that list of forums every day to see what's what and slow is an understatement, this forum is maybe to fast as the page turns but I'm new here

Besides the green forum and even yellow can be an incredible PITA to post pics and videos on. They say it works for them, but not on my end. So yeah, you need to fix it as my newer computer is fine everywhere else. Deal with it, geez. And the yellow one puts up notifications for every post but mine. Besides even GTA being slow some weeks like them. It just seems like this year, or at least season is getting boring to many? Besides some forums or groups on Facecrook talkin' around me like I don't exist. That's just plain rude, dude. Or they have that holier-than-thou complex where your a stupid a** and don't know jack about squat. No matter how much you can prove them wrong with pics & info besides. Or don't check out something I posted, even though some took me up to a year to finish and some 4-6 hours to edit, together, save & upload/publish. Nada. Zippo. Zilch. That kinda thing just makes me wanna leave for good.

But over and above that, I'm supposed to be happy & have a good time!? Really? Seriously?....

I think this is it. Outdated platforms and rigid rules for the Yellow. TAG is still good for detailed info on a specific setup/model. I think AGN managed to attract some of the other forums' members amd also most of the new ones...worldwide, And because of the close involvement of many members on this forum with the well-know and cutting edge airgunners and companies. As well as the owner's first-hand involvement with airguns/competitions establishes credibility while coupled with flexible but consistent management, .

The proof of AGN's success is in the rapidly growing number of sponsors. Sponsors move their money where they get more return.

What are TAG and AVA?

Dog...I believe those are the initials for "Talon Air Guns" and "Anti-Vaccinators of America"

Now I was wrong once before (June 17, 1967 11:00 am), and I've been paying for it ever since...so don't go quoting me as a reliable source!

Was that the day/time of your marriage? If yes, you better make sure the wife does not read the AGN! :)

........ dont yall remember when this forum was lame ? seems i was 'memberized' here in 2016 or 17..... when i somehow logged into agn less than a year ago , i was so overwhelmed by the improvements here i, guess it inspired me to write an article about the (hard to find) first break barrel made in the states. it was like the movie "jerry mcguire" as i really regretted that later on - and dunno what came over me... (but it sure "has awoken the dragon"....) ........... but having a forum like this is MUCH work. dealing with us pelletheads in general is taxing, and deadly if frequently. ...i need to ask about the bumper stickers i ordered..... i like this forum to advertise for it on my jeep with an agn sticker. i liked the yellow forum , but i'm glad it wasnt called anything like 'airgun mercenaries' or whatever.... steve in ct did a great job for the longest time.....he was more than fair with me - as i got to know thru being banned 7-8 times.....and i was soooo addicted to that forum , i'd jump thru whatever hoops i had to get back in.... it was sick....i was sick (like sick meaning bad, not like kids use it today where it means really cool).... i know there's bad points with steve in ct, but he more than fair with me. dealing with all the investors, advertisers, and then having to do all the work on a busy site like this - graphics, code, and policing our asses..... i'm logging off just thinking about how that is.. - paul.

I’ve been doing this airhead thing for 12 years now. It started on the Yellow years ago through an internet search. Been hooked ever since.

I see see it as a slow period caused by the seasons. It’s has always done this. YouTube has probably helped add to the sense of being slow because now we can go there and watch to learn and be entertained where we used to have to come through the forums to find and ask what we were looking for. Also there are more forums to access information, interaction on airguns so that may spread the overall activity out where it used to be more concentrated when there were less sites to visit? Just thinking, sharing some of my perspective. I frequent a couple sites and have only recently started trying to interact here on AGN. A lot of times I just read through the posts that may interest me then move on. These sites are more like my form of social media anyway. I really like seeing the different online personalities come out through the forums.
