Ordered a WIKA gauge $40 ea.

Been wanting one of these just to play with really, thinking of putting together a project gun at some point. Googled all over the place, only to find a post from @Centercut (Thanks CC) right here on AGN. These come from Germany, but I’m in no hurry. Here’s a link if you need one: http://www.csgshop.com/product.php?id_product=248 Forgot: Shipping for 1 = $5, I put 4 in my cart, Shipping total was $7.

I’m a bit confused why Wika seems to completely dominate this market. Don’t get me wrong, Wika makes some good stuff but we’re talking about 3-2-3 gauges (ASME Grade B).

For example, if we’re interested in a 4000PSI gauge, the 3-2-3 from Wika is going to have +/- 150PSI error tolerance from 0 to 1000PSI, +/- 100PSI error tolerance from 1000 to 3000PSI, and +/- 150PSI error tolerance from 3000 to 4000PSI.

The cheapo gauge I got ($6.76 included shipping) is an ASME Grade C, 4-3-4. Over the same pressure ranges above, the errors increase to +/-160, 150, 160PSI.

Is having +/-100PSI instead of +/-150PSI accuracy worth paying basically 6x times the price?

Keep in mind, on a 4000PSI, each tick is usually 100PSI, so the difference in accuracy is less than one count of its resolution.
