Opportunistic pesting anyone?

The weather was so nice this afternoon, took the opportunity to sling some lead with the TX. Checked out my yardages, every things still dialed in, and finished up with some fun time plinking with the Longbow

I took a little pause(sip) just to take things in and decide if I wanted to shoot some more or pack it in.

Well, guess who has shown up, but G-Hog, public enemy #1, mutilator of my hillside. This Longbow is spot on, so I had to take advantage of the situation ...

JSB 8.4 at 750 can be effective, especially as a lead q-tip, and after some tail spinning action, that was it.

I would never go after one of these beast with just a .177 springer, but these things have done a number on my property. Had to do what I had to do.

Shot placement is everything!

Last year I took out 8 of these garden invaders, sometimes .177 and sometimes .22.

The very last for the summer was July,Friday the 13th. Looked out my dining room window down into the garden(gradual slope, about 35 yards) and a youngster was sitting there eating our lettuce looking right at the house.

I loaded my QB78 with a .177 Gamo Tomahawk, opened the window, and sent it right up his nose. Dropped right there, twitched a couple of times. Done deal.

At the end of May last year my first one was a Momma. I stood about 10 feet from the burrow, She popped up,and I put one in the boiler room.

She grunted and ducked back in. Never saw her again.

Really is a beautiful stock on that rifle.

Looks almost like a high powered deer rifle.
