Open sights or Scopes?

SD , I put these modified AR flip sights on for a while and was inspired to one day have an open sight set up that could be dialed to elevation.clickClick click click click click click click click click click click click click click click click click click click click click click click click click click click click click click click click click, I’m at 107 yards. The peep sight Aperture has my eagle vision perfectly focused.... click So I would prefer to hunt with open sights if I had the right setup.

If by “open sights” you mean a traditional notch-type sight mounted far forward, consider the middle ground: aperture (peep) sights.

Longer sight radius, better view of the target area (a notch sight always covers the bottom half), inherently smaller aiming error, and (with an adjustable eyepiece, or just a couple extra disks in your pocket) easily adjustable to various lighting conditions.

MDriskill,

I agree 100% about peeps. I own several Williams. On my Diana 52 peep I bought a Gehman adjustable aperature peep. It's 7-40 threads. I really like it. Champion Choice.

There are iron sights available that I think I might buy from Newenglandairguns.com. They show a pic of one mounted on a Maurauder. The iron sight system clamps onto the scope rail. Distance from rear to front sight is pretty short. I still think I'm going to buy it just to satisfy my curiousity. I have a few PCP's that won't accept a front sight but this system allows any rifle to be equipped with iron sights.

Google them and tell us what is your opinion?
