Anyone here ever tried one of these?

Tried it and didn’t care for it. Just like iron sight it blocks the lower half of the view while still raise the sights well above open iron sight. I prefer either paint open aight or use fiber optic inserts open sight which gives me lowest sight to bore distance or just use red dot which gives me a full picture with fastest target acquisition. they tried to do both and failed at both.

Just my 2 pennies.

Hello I got one of the first ones when they came out, they may be better now but here are the pros and cons.

Pros:

very rugged

easy to mount

easy to zero

no batteries

Cons:

Very hard to pick up(no where as fast as a red dot) really have to focus on the sight and take time to do it, as well as getting use to doing it.

works on a friction hold to your rail ( slides on rail and use a grub screw to push it up and away from the rail) and mars the rail

not very precise, you will not get the accuracy out of your airgun you would get with a different type of optic (scope/red dot)

The idea is great, small, light ,rugged, easy to mount and no batteries BUT I don't think it is perfected for the accuracy an airgun user knows and expects. With that said and you are looking at a zero magnification sight and don't want to be a slave to batteries look at a 1x prism scope (etched reticle always have a reticle, can use batteries and illumination if wanted). Vortex makes a nice on and I believe the gen ones were on sale for around $190. Hope this helps if you have any specific please ask Eric

@esingle brought up many great points and I also think 1x prism scopes are excellent options but keep in mind it is a scope so eye position and eye relieve is critical. it’s not as fast or forgiving as a red dot but if you has astigmatism like a lot of us with aging eyes eventually red dot will be very hard to use except at very low level which reduces speed greatly. But non of us are going into CQB(hopefully) so not much of worry there.

I’ve been wanting to try on of these.

We have a similar siting system for the surveying instrument I use at work. It’s always low, but I can use the delta for a quick site in, lock the horizontal adjustment, and the cross hairs are almost always on a 3 inch lathe, it’s done it upwards of 150 feet or so. At first it was kind of amazing, until it kept happening. So the one we have works well. It might work good as a pistol site, I was thinking. Anyway I want one.
