oops....sorry 'bout that.

I was shooting my D34 .22 offhand at my 125 yard aluminum 10" frypan target an hour ago. Dead calm and reasonably warm at 50 F. I was clanking it pretty good until a P-dog popped up from a shallow depression in front of it and intercepted the HN ftt pellet. He popped up when the pellet was half way there to impacting the pan. Hit was a lights out cranium shot between the eye and ear. Too bad, I don't shoot at them and kind of like them around. My first few hits on the pan sent a few close dogs running away from the clanking moving round object. Never saw this one. The red fox will take it away for dinner tonight. This one was a small spring 2018 hatch ling.

I got an hour of 125 yd. offhand practice this morning using my older 34 .22 before it got too windy. The unfortunate pdog was gone, lots of fox tracks nearby. I got some dirty looks from his neighbors, though. TR, our 4-12x Vortex scopes have enough elevation adjustment to reach 125 yds. holding center. I am using the RWS one piece droop mount on both 34's. I am at the top of adjustment with only eight minutes of extra turn available. Both my scopes are close to the same adjustments to reach 125. Still nice dents in the pan at that distance. That Vortex now has 7000 shots with no problems. The new one is at 800 approx. Great scopes so far.

Seven08,

Wow, I did not know that about the amount of elevation adjustment available on these scopes. So you don't "hold over" shooting those ranges, just aim dead center.....nice to know. Yep, 125 yards with a .22 springer. Impressive. I'll have to try stretching mine out one of these days. They are are good rifles and I am very impressed with the 4-12 Vortex. I'm loving it. You still have to do the shooting though.....even with good equipment. Your a good shot.
