...most of them are black, and they absorb heat very quickly. Had my P-rod pumped to 3000 and sitting in the sun it went up a couple hundred psi in no time.

Yellow, blue, black, all pcp’s left out in the sun will raise in pressure. Heck, I can leave my under pressurized basketball out in the front lawn baking in the sun and after a couple of hours it’s filled enough to be worthy of a game of HORSE

Way back when I was a competitor in FT matches we all has issues with hot sun making shifts in poi.. my solution was to paint my gun case white, and added a cuple air vents on the sides. Tested with a thermometer the case was almost 20 degrees cooler than leaving the rifle out in the sun. Made a hugh dfference!!

If the outside temp is above room temp, fill to a lower bar. If the outside temp is lower than the inside temp, fill a little more bar. This will help getting the correct pressure in your tank. '
Then yes, the sun heating up the black metal does change the PIO shifts. Do way of dealing with that expect for painting it white or something.
