One of my first loves...TX200 MK3 .177

Johnny's right on. I love my TX-200's, been shooting them everyday since the shutdown. Am enjoying them more than my pcp guns, they've become safe queens.

Glad to hear you’re giving your springers some attention👍👍. Nothing better than putting a little energy into each cocking stroke and being rewarded with a shot that’s true. It always fascinates me🤓

I try to give all my airguns equal time and not show any favoritism but I do like my TX 200 and spend a lot of time plinking with it...

It’s tough to not play favorites, isn’t it? There’s always a sweetie that gets more love than the rest. LOL. Nice stock- GinB?

You’re correct it was Damascus......my hotel was in Frederick. I had just started shooting FT and so new to the game it wasn’t funny. I had never shot in the woods before....not to mention that kind of wind. Showed up with my AZ modified Steyr FT100 with all kinds of aspirations of kicking butt. I know who’s butt got kicked.😃 Before Damascus if it was windy we’d pack up and go home.

Chronied the rifle last night and imagine the shock when I saw 885 FPS with 7.9, and 878 with 8.4s! I’m used to seeing a 7 as the first digit🤓. Had my head wrapped around the transfer port size of 3.8mm (UK spec), that along with lots of technical forum browsing, obviously managed to confuse myself as this rifle is shooting WAY over the legal U.K. 12 fpe limit. Lockdown’s got me feeling dingy.😂

I have a couple TX355 12fpe springs on the way. It’ll be ready for powering down to sub 12fpe with all factory internals (minus seals, lube and a custom tophat😉)whenever that urge comes and if I ultimately decide to go that route. No need to change anything for the time being.

Did you ever post pictures of your ground squirrel hunts with that TX200 on the old yellow? I think I remember seeing your pics and posts way back. Really motivated me into underlevers back then.

The TX200’s (a MK3 and a MK2) from the ground squirrel hunts are no longer part of my stable, but man I remember both very clearly. Miss those guns! I found this pic (2009/2010) of my old TX200 MK3 in GinB stock topped with a Nikko 10-50 Hubble. It knocked down steel field targets and furry, warm blooded targets equally well.

And here’s the MK2 that I purchased directly from Ken Reeves. I shot several matches with this rifle and would take it on ground squirrel hunts. I used a Tasco Custom Shop 10-50X60 for a while, and clicked for precise head shots. Man that was FUN. Eventually it would be topped with a Hakko 10-50X60 MD (nice scope!).

Are you still into underlevers? 😉

”Johnny, you look like a Filipino.”

Im sorry but , what does someone’s ethnic background matter?

The reason why I asked is because I am from the Philippines originally.

Yes, I am a Filipino guy, hence my curiosity.

It's quite nice to get acquainted with someone of your own race who is a top shooter 😁

Hope that settles it, lol!

I think the HC can be a worthy platform. The other day I had a "plink off" at 35 yards with a stiff cross breeze and out of the tuned 97s and TX200's used ( MK3s and a HC) the highest hit rate obtained on THAT DAY was with my HC in a JM target stock, shooting JSB 7.9s, topped with a good old Simmons 44 Mag, 6.5-20X44, AO 1" tube scope. It was kind of cool to experience and it made me look at my HC with a bit more appreciation.

I wouldn't say the TX200 in Hunter Carbine trim is less accurate, but it may require a bit of work and creativity with the tune so that its inherent accuracy potential can be fully reached. 😉🙌.
