Today I dropped off my omega turbo charger with Todd to reseal and test. It only has 9 hours on it when it started sounding like it was under a strain when it got up to 200 bar it tripped the breaker. We talked for quite a while he is a super nice guy. Something I wanted to share that he taught me about the omega compressors. He told me a big problem is the O-rings take shape of the position they are in if sitting to long. Then when the compressor starts up they may not seal when building pressure. Also over greasing them is bad because grease can clog passages. I thought I would share this. If I had talked with him before I would have used mine differently.
I have the large omega bottle and would let it get as low as I could before filling. I was shooting my Cossman pistols and carbines mostly back then. So in-between fills was usually a long spell. So when he told me these are pretty reliable compressors but need to be ran every two weeks I realized I would have been better off with a small bottle so I would have ran the compressor more frequently. I thought what he told me was worth sharing. Maybe someone can benefit from this.
