Olight Odin Gun Light (rat hunt& review)

Olight sent me this for testing so I decided to mount it up to the Brocock Atomic and get it out on the farm for some night ratting. This is a light that I have vigorously tested in the field, definitely a quality unit as Olight is known for. This is a high end rechargeable 2000 lumen unit with remote switch. It's very bright and works well in most situations in the low power setting. Have a few other models and brands I have begun to test.

@Crosman999 I thought that the white light would cause the rats to scurry as opposed to using a green light or an IR torch. Did the rats seem nonchalant or were they obviously disturbed by the Olight? I was also thinking that the owl may be in that barn for the chickens. Some owls will kill and eat chickens. By the way, I love watching Marley go! She was anticipating falling rats after you shot them from the rafters. Great little hunting companion you have. She makes pesting and small game videos even more enjoyable to watch. I was surprised she didn't spook the rats either. I'm also looking forward to watching you test the Atomic more in different settings.

When you have thousands of targets it doesn't matter what form of lighting you use. Lol This place was insane

Wow!! With automatic feeders that allow them access I can only imagine. It can get way out of control on larger chicken farms, especally when you get into the long barns with industrial exhaust fans and thousands of chickens. I look forward to more videos from this location. Try to keep em coming when you have time. They are appreciated.

Great review as usual Dana, really enjoyed the video. How many shots were you taking before airing up the Atomic? If you go with a red or green light you'll probably double again your rat take.

Not sure but it was alot considering how low I had it adjusted. Honestly I think I could have backed hammer out even more, really don't need much power at all for rats.

Great review, Dana. I hope Olight sends one of their new green lights for you to test. Green is so much better for predators and pest birds at night.

It would be nice if they sent more products, the issue is that most of these flashlight companies all want free reviews. Producing a review cost me a good dime so without them helping cover some of the cost it's honestly not worth it. Hours and hours of work all for a $150 product..lol They act like they doing you a huge favor when in reality it's us that's helping them.

Aloha Dana,

Great review on the Olight Odin. I have one mounted on my Leshiy 2 and works awesome, I did change the mount for the pressure switch, I use a magpul m-lok tape switch mounting plate for the insight PEQ it mounts closer to the carbon fiber hand guard to fit my hand better.

Aloha, Keone

Thanks my friend, I will probably eventually mount it to my Evol as it has a long enough rail to do so. Pretty happy with the quality and ease of charging. My wife and I were thinking about you the other day saying how we need to order some more coffee.
