Old rifle video

I was at an airgun show in Fresno in 2013, and there were two gentlemen, Martin Orro and Hank E. there with a Girandoni replica they had built from scratch. They put on a presentation and demonstrated their replica. Amazing dedication and workmanship went into their project! They also had a Lukens replica that they had built. According to Martin and Hank, the original air tanks were soldered brass or copper and took 3000 strokes to fill to around 850 psi if I remember right. They had servants do this chore, and lost one from time to time when an air tank ruptured! Martin and Hank used a steel tank on their replica for safety's sake.
Thanks for posting the vid!

I did a bit of reading on this....The rifle really did not stand up to being suitable for the military....but it was amazing technology.

It was a repeating arm, able to shoot again and again....it was not till the civil war did real repeating rifles come back.

Story goes they showed this technology to Indians and just the demo was enough to make them think to not mess with them.
