Old 10M target rifles: FWB 300S & 300SU

I am fortunate to own four old 10M rifles - Walther, Weihrauch, Anschuetz 380RT and FWB 600 - but am intrigued by the FWB 300. Locally there is an FWB 300SU and a 300S for sale. I had never heard of the 300SU before. Is anyone able to tell me more about the 300SU? I understand that the 300S has a piston ring rather that a leather or synthetic piston seal and, possibly, opposing springs. Is the 300 SU the same mechanically? Any advice would be appreciated.

Jim the SU is most likely a 300s universal ...They have a moveable cheek piece . Inside all of the 300s models are the same ...Differences are the stock style , and barrel shroud or not and weights .

FWB 300s

If you have a chance to get one you won't be disappointed. I have 5 and all are excellent shooters. Although they are referred to as 10 meter shooters, I can assure you that they are awesome at longer distances. Do yourself a favor and look at some of Joe Rhea targets at 25 yards ( and longer ) distances, shot with his FWB 300S. If that won't impress you about the capability of these 300 springers nothing will.

Hi fsa46,

I have used my FWB 600 [shooting Meisterkugeln] with effect at about 25yards on paper targets and also on a bunch of house sparrows and messy swallows living in one of my machinery sheds using the dioptre sights. It would not surprise me if the 300S was equally accurate in the hands of a skilled shooter. Hopefully I will get a chance to compare.
