Sounds like you have some experience with M-79s. Yeah some folks called them Thumpers, Elephant guns, Bloop Tubes ... but to me it was always Duper. I liked it because I could put the vest in front and Medical bag in the back ( I was a medic 😵 3rd Plt, C Co, 1st Bn, 5th Inf, 25th Div worked out around Dau Tiang, Tay Ninh, Nui Ba Dinh, Xuan Loc, Cu Chi in Vietnam and the Parrots Beak and Fish Hook in Cambodia) . But there was always room for hand flares, grenades, Law Rockets, some food and water and I would usually carry an extra hundred rounds of 60 ammo for the 60 gunner ... I liked lots and lots of cover fire when I was dragging somebody back or trying to keep them alive long enough to get a Dust Off in there to get them to a real doctor. Sometimes life got to be real interesting.

Boy oh boy, that brings back some memories Mcoulter. That was the pre mono-shock days. Waaaay back in the late 70's I did a little motocross on a RM125. The good ole days... What year was that photo taken, 74-76? Those little KX's were pretty cool too. Nothing like a Levi jacket for the ultimate protection, I tell ya I been there and done that. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! Actually the photo was probably taken in 1983. The Suzuki RS 175 was my Dad's and was in our family until about 3-4 years ago. We finally let it go after my Dad passed away. I'm really proud of the fact that I taught both of my daughters to downhill ski and ride dirt bikes (both things I loved doing with my Dad). I think my kids were the last generation that didn't grow up being totally dependent on technology.

And yeah, I was TOTALLY INVINCIBLE in that jean jacket!

This was back in my scuba instructor days. I had retired after 25 years in the corporate world, and 10 years working for the State of Texas as a mediator. Ahhh yes....I was just a boy of 65 when this was taken...yearning to spend time with young people before I got old. Those were the days!

Senile, but with some still functional OEM parts...

PS: Why aren't there any buxom healthy young women in our sport that favor "V neck" tops and pcp air guns???
