OK seller, bad packager, shipment delayed. What would you do? UPDATED 6/30/21

I shipped a compound bow years ago in a hard plastic case. No problems whatsoever. That is better than any box you could put it in. Lmao. Don’t get the problem other than the fact he should have zip tied and taped like you said. The fact it’s going in just a hard case is no issue. Ups did charge a non encased fee of 10 extra dollars. If he shipped it in that case via ups, especially at a UPS store believe me he got utterly raped on price anyway.
As far as what should you do?? You should wait and let it play out.

If its going to be sent like that, get huge insurance.

I have learned that some people dont know any better. And it’s tough not knowing until you open that door, very frustrating I’m sure, it’s one of the rules I follow with Paypal. Some protection along with double insurance, that way its worth my time and i get what i want, and so does the reciever.

Good luck

I am waiting to see how it plays out. It's all I can do. I will do an unboxing video. It is coming signature required, which will prove I got something, but what's is the case-we'll see. I tracked it over the weekend. It made it to the Hodgkins, IL facility, where gang members openly flash gang signs across the workroom floor (I lived in IL for 59 years and know someone who worked there). If it makes it out of Hodgkins, the the last likely hurdle is the UPS hellhole of CO-Commerce City. UPS shuts down it's tracking system over the weekend. I hope to get an update later today and will be happy if I see an estimated delivery day of Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of this week. The package was insured for $2,000, but the sender would get that $$, and there is no assurance he will pass it on to me. Again, I will wait and see. A. If it arrives, B. In what outward shape it is, and C. What is inside.

^^^+1

I routinely ship scientific instruments worldwide in pelican and other hard cases.

I've never had any damage or theft across many carriers!!

Have you ever shipped in a case 40" long with only the far left side secured and no other protection, where someone can pop the 3 right latches, reach a hand in and slide out some or all of the contents or was it a Pelican case about as big a a lunchbox?

You are correct, usually my shipments are much larger than 40", custom hard cases.

Also, because I have to claim Lithium Iron Batteries, I have to ship un-locked/un-sealed for inspections.

Hey, you can't yell "GUN" in a crowded forum like this!! lol

My declared value, customs forms, is usually in excess of $50K USD.

My point is that I think ppl are way nicer and more honest than media would have us to believe.

I have hade rifles sent to me, and upon the first delay, I just knew it was stolen or soon would be! I can think of a thousands ways something will go bad begore the first way it will turn out.

Been there and done that.

I'm praying for your shipment.

Thank you. I am happy that your life experiences allow you to have that attitude. I grew up in the ghetto in Chicago, where when a semi truck stops at a stop light, guys get behind the truck, cut the padlock off the trailer and a group of (usually) young men start offloading the contents. It's much better to wait until the truck goes down the wrong alley sized street and time it so a waiting car pulls out in front of the truck to block its forward progress. It gives much more time to grab more stuff, and don't get out even if you are carrying a firearm, you are outnumbered.

Wow!! I have never lived in a place such as this.

Only thing I know of this is when I heard that Leroy Brown got his a$$ kicked.
