Oiling the tip of a CO2 cartridge

Seasons greetings!

Whenever I replace the CO2 cartridge in one of my guns I always put a drop of oil on the very tip of the cartridge. When I looked down the air chamber of one of my guns today I noticed that the o-ring surrounds the area where the tip is inserted. Should I put a drop of oil on the CO2 cartridge neck also? What method do you use?

I do the same on my crosman 2250...Every third cylinder or so with pellgun oil. Probably wouldn't hurt to lube the cylinder neck on yours from time to time if it is contact with a gasket. But I really don't know. =).
What co2 gun are you shooting?

Be carful with pellgun oil. Excessive use will clog valve over time. One drop on tip of co2 cartridge every third cartridge. The secret sause sold by Tim (Mac-1) is a lot better for gun. If empty cartridge don't drop out when empty point gun towards ground, cock and fire. This will force empty cart. Out.

I have several CO2 guns: a Crosman 2240 pistol, a Crosman CR357 pistol, a Crosman 2300T pistol, an Umarex Fusion rifle, and a Hammerli 850 AirMagnum rifle. I use Pellgun oil for the pistols and RWS chamber lube for the rifles.
