Ohh Boy! Stay tuned-

This was a quote from Joecool from a day ago in an other thread ( FX WILDCAT SERVICE ) . Nobody reacted to my surprise. When I say exactly the same there is immdeiately a remark . Funny isn’t it ?
I do have this great PP installed and am more than happy with it !

Well throw quotes around it if its a quote haha. Yeah i bet it'll be a great upgrade, got a buddy of mine with a streamine that's getting one looking forward to results.

👍

On my Wildcat MKIII .22 compact it made approx 30-40 fps difference and that was just enough to get to a harmonious tune with the slugs I wanted to shoot at 150 bar. Now reaching around 39 FPE is getting closer to the advertised power output that I could not reach out of the box . Look forward also for a free power plenum addition like Wimpanzee 😜. Anyway your friend will be happy as fit and finish is tip top and function is fine. Despite the fact that it remains “just a piece of threadened annodized aluminium” 😂

BADA$$ plenums Ernest Rowe!!

Thanks!

Mad?

On my friends 25 cal I was able to get him 925 FPS average with the JSB’s 33.95 heavy’s while maintaining a descent shot count that he’s very happy with. The accuracy at that speed is there, as you see here with my friends son smiling away, after splitting a playing card in half at 55 yards-

On my own 25 cal I favor the 28 grain Barracuda Hunter extremes And gained close to 50 FPS.

On my 30 cal I was able gain an additional 20 FPS and 5 more shots using the 44.75 grn. Vortex pellets,

I personally like where both my cats are at, and am excited to see what these longer extensions will do.

Not really “testing” anything. I’m always on the look out for anything to give me more than the gun originally had to offer, as long as it maintains accuracy. If something else comes out, I’m gonna install it, lol

Wow! Sounds like you are getting some wonderful results there! If I ever buy another Wildcat I will send it to you for one of your most excellent tune ups! Now I can't hardly wait to find out how the longer tube extension works out! Boy that old Ernest just never stops pumping out great ideas! 😃

All the best to ya, Chuck

Yale, can you still put a moderator on it? Would love to see a pic. My .22 MK3 compact came shooting 40 FPE out of the box but I would like more shot count. Reg is at 143

40 FPE at the plateau was mine as well but that is not a fine tune to me . Also I do not trust the standard FX reg gauge . Might be off by - or + 10% according to what I have read in this forum. As long as I do not have sky high re settings putting too much violence on the system I don’t care about the precieze number but just tune 3-5 % under the plateau till I get what I want in terms of speed and grouping. Anyhow,.. with the Ernest Rowe’s power plenum the Wildcat gets a bit more breath and for those that can appreciate it that is a nice addition to the experience ! Joe has again shown the estetics of it in fine detail and it indeed looks fantastic ! Thanks for the fine pics again Joe ! Amazing how just a piece of threaded annodized aluminium can be so nicely photographed !

I have a HUMA moderator that fits despite longer tube.

they do not touch each other either .

BigR, what is the Reg pressure on the .25 Wildcat? I have a MKII in .25 but with a 700mm barrel, I'm shooting the 33.95gr at 860fps with the reg set a hair below 130 bar. I'm etching to spend some money 😃 and would love to lower the reg pressure and maybe get above 60 shots. Before my Huma P. Plenum install my shot count was 64 (120 bar) but I was shooting the 33.95 at around 815, which was just a little too low.

I am only shooting the 33.95gr, can somebody please tell me which superior liner I have to order, standard or heavy?

Christian

If you zoom in on my friends gun, you’ll see a figure 8 clamp that captures the air tube along with the barrel shroud. That was a joint effort design between me and SMW Engineering Stuart on creating that for the wildcat. He already had the idea for the streamline but none for the wildcat. I provided all the dimensions and he sent me prototypes to test fit. That addition on my gun made all the difference in accuracy. I used to have the one like Yale has on his gun, also from SMW, but leaning up a gun to a corner wall still allowed movement of the shroud.

I’ve convinced at least 6 wildcat owners to put the new designed ones on their guns and all have been happy with the addition. No more “tink” sound from the air tube tapping on the barrel shroud, you can stick the biggest moderator on the end of your gun and you’ll never get droop, and feel free to lean the gun up against a corner wall, car tire, etc., cause it won’t change your accuracy at all.

I posted up pics and a talk up on his product on my gun a long while ago, but no one responded, so I figured no one cared so much about it. Stuart asked me to send him these same pics to add on his FB page.

Currently I’ve got Stuart in the works on a design I’ve given him, on two very popular guns. Stay tuned for those, too.

Im currently planning my show and tell on this air tube. My family is leaving for vaca in a few days. I won’t be able to attend due to physical issues, so I’ll be home bach’n It doing chronograph runs and target shoots with this extended air tube, so I apologize for the delay on presenting my results. Just be patient, and I’ll have it. Again, it will be no where as JOEKOOL’s presentations, but you’ll get the jist of things.

Nice to hear your cooperation with Stuart. Super guy ! My mount clamp from Stuart has a sort of notch / slot that prevents the shroud from moving during normal use. any clamp like yours or mine ( also Joe is using them ) will affect harmonics and one has to figure out if it is for the good or bad or adapt to it.
Indeed it is hard to beat Joekool re posting presentaion but yours a very much appreciated as well 😉😀

JOEKOOL, if you’ve already got me beat in the testing of this extension, feel free to post up your results on this tread. Like I mentioned earlier, it won’t be till mid week of this coming week when my family leaves that I start into this.

I did do a quick preliminary check on it by running a quick string, leaving all my original setting as it was, untouched, and my speeds on my 25 cal 600mm barrel that was shooting the H&N 28.40 grain Barracuda Hunter Extremes jumped from the 991 average to 1001 FPS average. JSB 34 grainers jumped from 918 FPS to 935 FPS. It would have been closer to 940 FPS as the average, but all it took was a shot at 922 FPS to ruin the average. The shots were all hovering in the 937-944 speeds, then that one 922 showed up!

Don’t know if my 25 cal Wildcat MK2 will be accurate at those speeds, but in time I shall see.

Didn’t want to highjack your thread, but since you insist..

Well, I installed the 2.5” plenum by Ernest on my Wildcat MKIII .25 Sniper and I like it! Haven’t changed any of my settings, hammer spring tension is untouched and the AMP regulator remains @ 135bar. Also, remembering that I have the Huma dual brass transfer port installed on my MKIII. Here are some chronograph shot string comparisons of the dual Dreamline plenums performance versus the 2.5” new plenum with the heavier ammo I use.

Velocities and energies are the same... Right where I want them on the highest HST level # 7. It’s a cleaner install than the dual Dreamline plenums, being that is is actually and specifically designed for the Wildcat’s air-cylinder’s thread dimensions. I may have gained a bit of consistency from shot to shot, being that the 2.5” plenum has .5” more plenum air volume then that of the stacked Dreamline plenums. The Dreamline plenums are advertised as having 17cc’s of air volume, with two of them stacked that would equal 34cc’s of additional plenum volume. So, I suppose Ernest’s new 2.5” plenum would be in the ballpark of 40cc’s of added plenum air volume. Either way, I’ll take it! They work, fit well, and will be a permanent part of my WC Sniper! Accuracy is outstanding as was before with my ammunitions of choice, JSB pellets and NSA slugs. I’ll make my own separate thread for accuracy sometime In the future, hogged this one enough..

Just looking at the pic of your gun, Joe, I see opportunity for the aftermarket to design and build mag holders for these MK3’s. Wether in 3D or in anodized alum., it would be a welcome addition.

What would be really cool is if someone re designed the scope rail with integrated slots underneath that the mags would snap into, like JSAR did for the Wildcat MK1/MK2 and their own Raptor design.
