Has anybody here ever tried one of these FX Impact-like air rifles from "Swivel Machine"?

Apparently these came out over 20 years before the Impact but they are an AR compatible multi-caliber switching bottle fed repeating pcp rifle with an optional externally adjustable regulator. You seem to be able to choose any or all calibers from .177 up to 38 plus arrow barrels, grapnel hook, harpoon barrels, buoyancy canister barrel, tranquilizer dart attachment and 22 lr barrel so they have covered all bases...

It Works on either co2 or 2000 psi air which they claim to be able to deliver 100 ft lb with pellets and 1100 fps in every caliber which is hard to believe.

Tom Gaylord said he tested one 20 years ago and they were excellent with the arrow barrel but not great with pellets due to a poor trigger but... That was 20 years ago so maybe that has changed (or maybe not).

I am assuming they suck because a pcp gun like that would have more of a following but somebody must be buying them because they are still in business....

True but that only prevents the copying of the new feature, not the original product. 

I haven't read the patent but it could easily be for the specific arrow barrel design and not pneumatic air guns in general as they are definitely nothing new.

The Swivel Machine (silly name) arrow gun is over 20 years old and that was a copy of a much older design even then.

If you google Swivel Machine pneumatic arrow gun then you'll see it. it looks like an AR with a bottle sticking out of the receiver.

Take a look at the Swivel Machine website if you get a chance. It's entertaining with all the options they offer. If you ever decide to become a super hero and need a batman-style grapnel gun or harpoon to scale tall buildings, that's the place to go!

"AZBOBCAT"Zebra back in the late 80's when I was playing paintball they had this 40mm launcher you would put a car board plug in it fill it with paintball and another wad. The thing was devastating hit a guy almost point blank with 20+ paintballs. I bet he never forgot that. They also sold it as a riot control tool.

That's what eclipse defense makes their product for (mainly) but it depends on the choice of ammo and the power setting (they are adjustable). The regulator can be set from between 150psi and 1250psi I believe. I wouldn't want to get hit with a 40mm led projectile at full power, that's for sure.

i bet, with some mods, that thing could be made into the most lethal air gun ever. It's semi auto too and has a box mag / ribbon fed option. The coolest feature is that it can be set up to be fired by remotely and controlled by your iPhone. I could kill squirrels in my garden from my desk at work!

Here is a link to a video demonstrating the eclipse. Jamie Hyneman from Myth busters has a "fascination with pneumatic weapons". In the video link he demonstrates the eclipse and at the end of the video turns it into a modern day vampire slayer. I have also included a link to the Eclipse web site. Makes for interesting and imaginative reading .... brings many different ideas to mind.... some of them down right improper as my grandmother would say.

Great YouTube clip on the Eclipse but I think I need to see it tested on a squirrel to be sure!

The Drulov Sokol is a 9mm co2 mini carbine. Puts out over 20 ft lb with co2... There is a pistol version too. It's single shot but whatever.... It's a 9mm co2 gun that gets 12 shots from one of those 12g co2 cartridges. 

I saw one for sale on Yellow forum. I was tempted for a moment until I regained my sanity. Still, it makes you wonder what the upper limits of co2 really are. It shows that it is capable of a lot more than we've seen with those cheap BB guns. It's definitely not the most powerful 9mm air gun but it has more hunting power than most pcp pistols and the potential for significantly greater shot count. If they made a repeater with a decent barrel, I'd buy one.
