... odd critter on the doorbell cam at 4:27am .. squirrel or other???

I know the lake, three blocks way, has:
Nutria
Beaver
Muskrat
Otter

First search revealed...

That’s a tough one, certainly in the weasel type family. Definitely a predator. Did you notice how short his tail is at the very last when he walks away?

The weasels we have around here are very skinny. I’m wondering if that’s a young mink?

Either way it’s pretty cool.

maybe put a piece of meat out there tonight…If you do, put it on a small piece of wood with a nail driven through it to hold it in place.

Yes I noticed the length of tail AND that it was not fluffy as compared to the Grey Squirrel that frequent this backyard.

The lower legs, just above the paws, caught my attention too.

I need a fatty piece of meat to 'stake' down, for sure ;)

Having my coffee and waiting for the next chime on the doorbell cam. 30 minutes ago it was a racoon.
