NX8 2.5x20 or 4x32?

I haven't owned either scope so take this with a grain of salt, but in my experience scopes made in the same series like the NX8 series all have the same quality glass. The effect is that the lower magnification versions appear to be better optically because image quality degrades as magnification goes up on all scopes.

My bet is the glass in the 2.5-20 will appear better even though it is the same quality because seeing the image at the 4-32 at 32x will leave a negative impression compared to 20x on the 2.5-20.

At 20x the image quality is likely the same quality in both scopes.

Airsupply,

My choice, even if you only wishing/needing 20x, would be 4x32. Pm me only because I can say more in two minutes than I can write in two hours and we'll make a time to talk

Would highly suggest, if convenient enough, to drop in on a local retailer who carries night force and these particular models, to look through personally. Make arrangements with the salesman to take you outside in real light to look through these scopes. Chances are if its a more prominent sporting/hunting store they will have a wooden stock blank that you can drop the scope into which will also allow for a better experience when comparing the two.

I currently have both those scopes -- the Night Force NX8 2.5-20 x 50 and the NF NX8 4-32 x 50. Both are excellent scopes in my opinion. As a correction to my initial post regarding the comparison of the 2 scopes, up to 20X magnification, the clarity of the 2 is indistinguishable -- I just now went outside to compare them. Where the NX8 4-32 x 50 surpasses the NX8 2.5-20 x 50 is in target-shooting, especially at distances 75 yards and beyond.

My old eyes simply see the red dot on the Shoot N See targets better using the greater magnification of there NX8 4-32 x 50 scope (MOA).

I suppose when hunting, the slightly smaller and lighter NX8 2.5-20 x 50 scope would edge the larger scope.

Is the NF 4-32 a better scope than the Delta Stryker 5-50? That's a $500-$600 price difference. Is it worth the price difference? Yo!

The Delta Stryker in 4.5-30×56 is what I've been researching lately. The only turn off for me is that the illumination on the Stryker is not daylight bright. The Nightforce NX8 series are daylight bright which I confirmed with 2manyAirGunz. Thanks! I'm not too sure how they compare optically though.

I know The Delta Stryker 4.5-30x56 is a better scope compared to the old Bushnell 6500 saw a video on that side by side. The Bushnell Tac series seems to be the latest discontinued JAPAN model a great deal at only $599 I bought couple of them but they're sold out and sellers are still asking UP TO $1000 for that same scope. TOO BAD for the 25 yd focus. Is the Delta Stryker a 10 yd focus? Yo!

Thanks for all the feedback guys. Appreciate it.
At the moment it seems Australia is sold out of the 4-32 but I think I’ll wait and try to take a look at one before deciding. Interestingly the first lot I saw advertised originally where $2890AU With Mil-c reticle. Seeing them now for $3540AU when they come back in stock.
Same place has the ATACR 5-25-56 F2 for $3600AU!!!

They obviously think there on to a good thing!

I am told there is a new model coming, I have two of the 4-32 and one of the 2.5-20 which is not even mounted, to my eye the 32X is way better and NF confirmed that the 20X due to it's short length is optically a compromise.

Anyways I want to see a 4-32 with a 56mm objective and if possible the same in SFP as well, I suspect the 56 objective will be the next offering.
