    .25 caliber only. It’s a shame .22 slugs aren’t available at that price…   ;(

He will have .25 and .30 at that cost shortly. Look on the GTA forum.

I bet 0.22 is also coming

Thought I could clear this up.

We had to convert our machine to be able to make hollow points after I bought the machine.  That took 6 months of getting it figured out and having tooling made.  I started with 25 caliber to use as a test.  Now that it works I can order tooling for more calibers.

Here is what is on order:

250 HP with a different nose profile

249 HP with a different nose profile

217 HP, 218 HP and 223 HP (Huben)

    300 HP

After that I would like to do 17 cal along with other slugs we will talk about when we get closer.

The new 25 cal dies on order I expect in about 6 weeks.  The 22 and 30 dies I expect in about 8 weeks.  Of course we have to test and dial the slugs in.  We will have all these calibers and adjust how many slugs go into each box to keep the price the same per box.

We are also trying to work with our vendors to get our price for our materials down to keep our pricing as low as possible and our customer service as high as we can.

We changed the price of slugs several years ago and others had to follow.  Now we are doing it again.

Bear with us as we continue to pave the way to the future of slug shooting.

    @ nielsenammo

Why do your .22 slugs cost more that twice as much as .25 slugs?

    275ct 33.5gr .25 cost $19

    100ct 33gr .22 cost $16

Because they are made by hand on a very slow machine.  Our new machine we just got up and running is much faster and reduces our labor costs substantial.  When we get the tooliing for the 22 cal on this machine the cost of 22 ammo will be similar to 25 caliber, actually a little cheaper per slug.  Right now you are paying for the labor to make those one by one.  If you seen the video of our new machine you will see how much faster while keeping excellent quality our new slugs are.

Heavy, I think he's already said why if you read his web site.  He has newer faster machines that can make slugs much cheaper. For now, he has .25, but is working on getting the tooling necessary for .22.  I'm also very interested in the .22, since my EDgun R3 Long is in .22 caliber…

Think about it, these new NSA slugs when made from the newer machines cost about the same as .25 JSB Heavies and are cheaper than .30 JSB pellets…

Thanks for the explanation, I understand.

Now that I've reread his previous post the answer was right in front of me.

Nick's new slugs shoot really well so far too! I started testing them a few days ago in super windy conditions and still got some good groups at 50 and 75 yards. I went back the next morning when it was very calm, with some very high expectations. Unfortunately, after just under 2 magazines my gun started leaking air pretty badly. I thought I had fixed my gun, went back the next day, fired about the same amount of shots and my gun took a crap again. Thought it was fixed again, went back this morning and fired just 8-9 shots with the same gun malfunction. It put a stop to my slug testing again. Hopefully tomorrow! The point is, the prices have come way down, the slugs look great and the weights are super consistent. I started testing the 33.5, 36.2 and the 38.5 with good enough results, even in the super strong winds, to get me all excited. When I'm actually able to get the gun tuned for each slugs weight, I think it's going to be awesome.  I tested another make of slugs this morning to get a velocity comparison using lighter slugs and they shot very well at a higher velocity, which I expected. I think when I get the Nielsen 33.5 grain slugs shooting between 920-940fps, the accuracy will be better! I'm hoping I've got enough power to get the 36.2 grain slugs up around 910-930+ fps too. They shot great from the start, the faster and faster they go the better they shoot…so far anyway. With hardly any tuning done to my gun at all(none really, just turned up the reg.) these are shooting very well. I wouldn't imagine it will take much time at all to dial in the gun and get them shooting great. For Impact and Crown owners, these slugs are made with the correct design and weights that they should shoot well without the long tuning process.

Nick Nielsen has listened to his customers… he has ramped up production, lowered the price substantially and is making slugs that shoot well out of the box with little tuning!

I have relayed these concerns to Krale and forwarded some of the emails I get from customers who want the slugs.  I have agreements with dealers to encourage them to offer my slugs that I won't compete with them outside of the USA.  That does not mean another dealer from that country can not be a dealer, they just don't compete with me.

They have an order that I believe got there this week and I know they were going to put another order in sooner than they did before.  I would encourage you to email Krale and voice it there too even though I have shared these concerns.

There are dealers here in the USA that may ship them to you as well.

    Here is another option:

Anyone have any luck with these in a .25 marauder?  Interested in the 100+ yard range.

Nick, I wish you the best. Considering your Investment and ambition you have the capacity to compete with H&N in terms of volumes and cost.

THANKS, Nick!  I'm super excited about these developments, as long range airgunning will get so much better with slugs! 😊

    Keep up the good work.

I wish you all the best that your hard work and entrepreneurial risk taking will not only help airgunners, but work out financially for you.
