Nsa....just plain sexy

Shot this today at 100 yards. Backed it up about 4 times. The cover up was a jsb. Now that I got the gun fixed it repeats with slugs consistantly. This is the 26.8 dished .25 @ 1050 fps. Only 3 shots, but it will keep on goin!

Which rig was used for such a nice group? I have some 29gr waiting to be used on my Cricket and Vet,

i need to order some 26gr and 34gr too!

Its a custom brocock magnum .25. Im using a fx slug liner system. I bought 4 liner, tried different chambering, leads, etc. Best one was factory chamber, polished w jb and recrowned. It stood out from the crowd by far. I had one that was a total DUD. It lead fouled so bad after just a couple slugs it would actually clip the moderator. You couldnt even push a patch through it. That one went in the trash. Its been a 2 month long road of screwing around with it. Between tuning, air strippers, lengths, etc. But it was worth it! Low power I shoot 25gr jsb at 880fps one hole at 35 yards, mid power is jsb 34gr at 900 fps with super tight groups at 70 yards and high power nsa 26.8 slugs at 1050 fps with groups above at 100 yards.

For the last 3 days I shot daily and its repeated everyday, finally! I was seriously close to giving up.

My .25 Eddy Super Magnum loves the 26.8 grain at 1040 FPS. I’m going to bump the reg down a bit and adjust HST so velocity is right on 1000 FPS. Last weekend I hit a 3/4 inch spinner 5 shots in a row at 76 yards. It’s interesting that the almost exact same slug at 29 grains (HP DB) isn’t even close to as accurate.

@vmaxpro what BC are you getting with the 26.8 grain NSA slugs?

Fx slug liners honestly are junk. If you slug the barrel, its tight and loose about every 2”. You can actually hear the effect of that in flight. It doesnt seem to affect pellets, but it causes alot of issues when tuning slugs. I cant tell if its land thickness varying, or on a diameter. Its a crap shoot if you get a good one for slugs, atleast in .25. I bought 4 and tossed 3 now. Does anyone cut rifle liners this diameter successfully?

I’ll share a secret that I dont advise doing unless your prepared to potentially trash the liner. I didnt see very good accuracy until I fire lapped it, and very aggressive at that. I started with 20 slugs rolled on valve compound, than 20 more with jb paste, than another 20 with a metal polishing compound. Groups shrunk immediatley. Patch is nice and smooth down the bore. But please, dont come back to me if you trash your bore. It was a last resort and I said whats it gonna hurt lol. I WOULD NEVER do this with a quality barrel.

That might of come off a little harsh lol sorry. I was a little annoyed at the quality. Im shocked they shoot good. Whats crazy is the concentricity between the lands and grooves. If indicating the bore, the lands runout around .0035 (total). Pellets dont seem to care, but slugs def do. 1 out of 4 had very little tight spots and the runout was under .001. The other 3 I tossed in the trash. I guess for 100$ tho its ok. Now if I chucked up a firearm barrel and got this it would be returned. Does anyone else slug for tight spots? Maybe I just got a bad run?
