Not so good feedback for PA.

Imo you did buy a used gun..of course there gonna be aome cosmic damage from previous owner. Some will be worst than other, depend on how well the previous owner treated their gun. That's why it's cheaper than a new gun. If looks matter, should of buy a brand new gun. If you buy a new gun and it came with damage, then yes you can complain about it. But I wouldn't complain knowing I bought a used item for cheaper. I would be like, dangit .why didn't I just save a little more and buy it new. Can't complain.
 
The Hatsan description is what I would expect when buying a refurb. We had a small air rifle business for several years and our refurbs were actually rebuilt by David Slade. Except for nominal dents or scratches, they were as good as new and included his trigger tune and test target with the pellet specified. This option was expensive, but essential to assure the customer received a quality product. The goal was to break even, but sometimes we took a loss. But it is a cut throat business and customer good will and your reputation can make or break it.

In the early '80 I did a lot of business with Gerry and Carol Thomas at World Class Airguns. and every purchase with them was friendly and fair. They had great products and prices. Gerry would even had a re-lube/inspection service on new springers for just a few dollars more. It was very satisfying to know that your new rifle had been inspected and tested. Used rifles, or those sent in for servicing received a thorough refurb with used parts returned. I once asked Carol how it was possible for a Mom and Pop outlet to do so much for their customers. She said "Gerry treats his customers the way he would want to be treated'. I have never forgotten that response and advice. Martin and Sandra Rutterford employ that same ethical standard in their business. They work from 6:30 to 4;00 and still take homes rifles for final testing so that they can be sent out to customers the next day. It is a high bar to meet, but those vendors and manufacturers who want happy customers work hard to make it happen.

In these times of instant gratification and the anonymous internet critic, some criticism is unjust. Perhaps PA is just too big a warehouse vendor to get it right all the time. But, IMHO, the examples above are inexcusable. The folks who put up their hard earned money deserve better. For me, I buy pellets from them, which are well packed and, generally, received in good condition. But I too have received a new rifle that had issues, and won't do it again.
