Non Linear Barrel Preference Of Pellets

"chasdicapua"I tested 4.50 - 4.55 pellets through my new RAW TM 1000. Tested 8.44, 10 and 13 gr JSB pellets. It clearly liked the 4.50 least and the 4.55 best (bummer for pellet sizing), but the trajectory was not linear. It likes the 4.52's better than the 4.53's and almost as good as the 4.54's. Anyone come across this? Explanations?
It isn't just head size that is influencing your experiment. Skirt diameter and weight also will have an impact. Too many variables.

I just come across your thread!, and I too have run into similar results, my TM (LW Standard barrel) seems to like 4.52 the best of anything smaller than 4.55! This is in the jsb 10's or 13's, the pellets that it really likes r the CP 10.5's! (Die #6)The head on those seem to average around 4.52 none larger I've found in the supply I have, these r quite old? Haven't tried any new CP's? (Note I get the unexplained flyer in the CP's that will ruin that awesome 10 shot group but even with the flyer the group is smaller than the 10.3 jsb's!)

On 1-22 & 1-23-17 it was in the mid to upper 40's temp. Little to no wind!,So i decided to do some shooting (3 ten shot groups apiece)to test some jsb 10.3 & 10.5 cp's,the cp's group1- .120",group2- .170",group3-.154" these were washed & waxed not weighed!, the jsb's averaged slightly larger .169" to .209" note: Photobucket sucks! So i will post pics when i can? These groups were @ 27 yds.,groups are measured outside to outside than subtract the caliber (.177") in this case
