I would like to ask for comments on the upcoming ban in Calif of all lead pellets in 2019.   What Non Lead pellets will give good results, and will makers come up with good pellets that will fit in our magazines?   Many non-lead pellets are longer and won’t fit standard Umarex or Gamo mags.   Thanks.

Are pellet rifles included in the nonlead ammunition ban?
Since pellet rifles are not firearms, the use of lead projectiles in pellet rifles is not prohibited.

Also this document covers the Condor area:

I prefer non-lead and use H&N Baracuda Green in .22 with good results.  They hit very hard.  Also got a sleeve of Predator GTO .22 which are lighter but seems accurate as well.

Air guns are exempt from lead free projectiles per the California Wildlife Department.  See above by airgunstocks….bottom section with the * in it

Predator GTO lead free is most accurate pellet in Gamo Swarms. Nothing else shoots as well in mine.

Just above this post is one about a person shooting deer in CA with Airgun. One of the charges is using lead. I agree with everything above, the website makes it clear we do not have to use non-lead, but maybe that will change.

As @airgunstocks points out, air guns are not firearms in the eyes of the law in CA. Therefore the lead ban is not applicable…
