Nomad II help

Most of the disposable compressors, oiless waterless type, have a rebuild cycle of near 20 hours and come with the necessary parts to do the job. With two years plus on it you are probly at or past the 20 hours by now. Expect there are YouTube vids out there to hep you out but I did not find one.

To put it bluntly, your compressor is dead. I had three of these before I finally said enough. When the third one broke I sent it back in got the 4th new one and sold it (none of mine lasted a year. Longest one lasted 8 months).... 2 of the 3 that I had, did the same thing yours is doing only they did it much sooner. I fyou got two years out of this you might have gotten the best one they ever built!!! I did the same thing you did, always followed the directions to a T, same end result. These things are garbage there is no other way to put it. If you want a compressor that is a workhorse HILL EC3000. I have 9 hours and hundreds of fills on mine in a year.... and it's built like a tank. Sorry for your compressor issue... been there and dealt with that.

yep bought one a few months back. Outstanding unit. I had three of those Chinese ones they all died. 

I have had 2 Nomad IIs. First one lasted 6 months. Second one is still working fine. Had it since July 2019. What I did do was get one of the Hill EC 3000 units just before Christmas and now it is my primary unit. The Nomad II is for "field trips" and as a backup.

Looks like you got a couple options, send it back for repairs or try fixing it your self. Below is some info/research that may help you figure out what is wrong and which direction you want to go.

I personally have already decided that WHEN my Nomad II goes out I WILL tear into it. If you decide not to send yours back for repair then it is just a paper weight and you have little to lose by working on it yourself.

Top two references are for the Hill EC 3000 but show simple problem of not building up air pressure and simple fixes.

Too bad Air Ventura doesn't care enough about it customers and its products to produce repair manuals and videos. But I must say I have had nothing but great communications with their tech people. They are top notch.

Sounds like you may be a young wiper-snapper. My advice is the sooner you buy tools and dig into things like this the longer you have to use them and to perfect your skills. You can always tell the misses some nut on the internet talked you into it. HAHA

Pretty sure the Nomad is a Tuxing, Do a Youtube search for "rebuild tuxing"

If you don't want to spend over $1000 I would highly suggest a Yong Heng, Hardcopy or Set Pressure models, as it's not just your brand of compressor that is a problem it is that whole family/style of compressors. They are really made for occasional use at the field filling guns only and they do that job well although longevity is usually an issue. They are not for prolonged use topping off of both guns and tanks.
