Nomad II - Don't neglect basic maintenance!

Well, my compressor has failed. Has been working like a champ until today. Started up fine and stopped at 275B and gave me a code of "L" on the load meter. Readings between 22-23 since I've owned it. Time to make that call to Air Venturi.

Update: Took a month to receive my compressor back from AV. On a good note, they sent me a Brand New Unit as replacement! I originally sent them only the compressor and hose as that is what they asked me to do. To my surprise, when I opened up the box yesterday was a brand spanking new compressor with Everything! Hopefully this unit lasts longer than the last one.

Outstanding news Wiseguy. Could you tell me how long you had yours before the failure? and a guesstimate of how many fills you got prior to failure?

Personally I was out of the country when mine was delivered mid-May and has sat in its box waiting to be broken out...Apparently Bob's failed since his last post here, he said it sounds fine when running but simply wont pump. He said he'll send it in eventually but hasn't done much about it with starting his new job and all.

Without accurate information from Pyramyd it's difficult to know if there is one issue causing the failures, or several, even with the obvious solid maintenance attention given to the compressors by members positing here. Meanwhile may Cronws boatel is at a low pressure due to som work I've been doing and I still have my AV fiberglass tank which I'l use to get my Crowns bottle up to 145Bar. Once I'm in that pressure range I'll hook up the Nomad II and see how she does.

If one can get 60-70 fills off the Nomad II before it fails, that's about a break even based on local costs for SCBA fills...whether that kind of service duty is a reasonable expectation remains to be seen.
