Nomad 2 quit

This is the 3rd nomad I’ve had the first two were nomad ones. I don’t have a lot of time on it and service it by the book, probably a little more often. I started it this morning to fill my Uragan compact to 250bar, it blew a fuse before it got to 100bar. I let it sit unplugged for a few minutes then put a new fuse in it. The screen is not working and the compressor smells like burnt electrical. While I want another compressor I don’t think I’ll get another air venturi. I’m waiting to see how they handle it.

I had mine for 11 months, approx 3 hours use. I spoke to them for weeks by email. They ended up letting me return it, not a full credit but pretty close. Customer service is not good however they do stand behind their product. Tell them you want to return it and upgrade to their new hill compressor.

Now if this is offered I will do it, but I bought through a local Air Venturi dealer. He has really taken care of me, so I will give him a call.

wow, thanks for this! just found a deal on a new one and was about to pull the trigger but it was puzzling me why this person was selling a brand new one.

Well I’ve shipped it in for possible warranty or trade in towards the new hill. I’m honestly hoping they will offer my money towards the hill. I followed the maintenance instructions for the compressor as close as I could. My first one had the head come lose, the second had a bad gauge and they think this one fried the motherboard. My dealer (wades in Ava il) has warrantied the first two and I’m going through av for this one. I’ve got my fingers crossed that I can upgrade, because honestly I don’t want another nomad. I would probably go shoebox and a small tank if I have to start over again.

Sounds like the motor is experiencing increased pressure-based workload and calling for more current but the current draw is sagging the voltage reducing RPM as a result of increased wire resistence to current load. Is the power cord 18ga molex? Got a beefier one laying around and how far away from the panel are you?

I'm legit curious if you have a clamp on ammeter or have a 16ga or 14ga molex laying around and could give it a whirl.

It’s plugged directly into my wall socket that will run a 1500watt heater with no issues. The compressor was ran off of this circuit for quite a while with no issues. This socket is 20 feet from my breaker box so at most 30ft of wire. I will go try it on my generator that has a 30amp 110 set up for my welder so undercurrent will be ruled out as an issue.
