Noise when shooting my FX Wildcat

Hello everyone !I'm new to this Forum . My wife purchased an FX Wildcat for me for Christmasafterthe10,000 hints that I gave her , lol . I took it out for a shoot and it mad this sound like like I was airing up an basketball. I call where it was purchased from and they said that it was normal for the FX Wildcat . He asked if I had any airguns with a regulator I told him absolutely, I have 5 FX airguns alone not to mention the other airguns that I own with a regulator and I've never heard the regulator after taking a shot on any of them . Can someone please tell me if what I'm hearing is normal for the Wildcat ?
Thanks

No , haven't chronied it because I don't have one. I usually send my airguns to a guy named Ernest Rowe but I called him imediately after and his number was disco so I looked around to see if I could see any topics about this and what do you know , nothing not one topic about this noise . So I asked the question and got back the feedback that I thought that I would . I don't really tinker on my guns at all . I send them to the guys that know what their doing . I tell them what I want , pay them and shoot . I absolutely do not trust myself to adjust, fix, tweak anything on my airguns . I know my limits . I just didn't like the automatic response that I got from the guy ,especially when you pay a lot of money for a brand-new gun and you call in polite just wanting to be handle with respect and courtesy . Don't know what the deal was but at this point it's being sent back and replaced . I didn't feel like they really appreciated someone choosing them and spending money with them . May not go with them ever again to purchase guns . I have purchased about 6 guns from them and when there was an issue same kind of response and treatment . And there was only one other incident and that was with a compressor not even a gun . But , like I said it's going back and I'm getting a new one . I wish I was mechanically inclined or I would do at least some of the things that I pay money for .

Not to hijack your thread, or anything but I called AOA the week before Christmas asking some questions about the FX Crown and the guy that answered the phone was kind of a butt hole. I just chalked it up to a guy having a bad day at work, I figured they were pretty busy. Anyway, I was just asking about lead times and did they have any info on what a caliber change would cost. He was real short with me. Even after I put down a deposit. I thought it was kind of strange that they deal in high end air guns and they put a guy with an attitude answering the phones. Anyway I hope you get your issue worked out.

I agree , the art of showing appreciation has been lost a long time ago. I did call that number the day the guy gave me the number and blew me off the first day but have not heard anything back from anyone from that phone number but thanks . I called the second day , which was today and same attitude same person. I'm pretty easy going not too much bothers me but this was a brand new airgun . I could have been a new customer buying an airgun for the first time, unfortunately it was not the first time that I have experienced this kind of interaction with this company . Let's see if they fix it or send a brand new one like I requested, like a good quality company would .

Wow.
I'm a bit out of touch but thought I had read
"FX Airguns USA will be the official distribution point for all North and South American retailers who carry FX Airguns. FX Airguns USA will also handle all service work for FX Airguns in the United States" back in November.

So if you purchase from the old importer, they do warranty work?
If you purchase from a different "dealer" and it needs work it goes back to the Desert as they imported and handle warranty for all FX, right?

The new FXUSA who you called now handles warranty work if purchased where?

Have you contacted FX directly?

Hope they ( who ever ) get's it sorted for you and a follow up would be great.

John

My wife purchased it from Airguns of Arizona. I called them . I didn't know that there was an FX USA until I called back Tuesday the day after Christmas to let them know about the problem . The guy gave me the number 866 something and I called and left a message no return call since Tuesday . I am sendingit back tomorrow morning for a new one on my dime . No return shipping label for a new gun because he said that there was nothing wrong with it, even without looking at it. None the less . I am sending it back tomorrow and I hope that they will do what's right .

Hey Hawkeye
He put his name on the email so I have it . I am probably not going to do business with them again after this . I have spent a lot of money with them . My wife tried to order it from Airgun depot but the guy was short and wouldn't answer all questions and was rushing to get off the phone . The other place that I had an experience is with pyramid air when i had a problem with a gun the tech cut me off and said you need customer service and just transfered me no hold on, no nothing . They don't teach customer service anymore. I will probably start ordering guns from the smaller companies they seem to really still appreciate your business as their small and know that every customer counts and they care about word of mouth.

I vote Utah Airguns. A pleasure to deal with.

So everyone is saying that noise isn't normal. Let me repeat, that if my Wildcat gets down in pressure, off the reg pressure, it makes a squeal and I hear a small amount of air leaking down the barrel. But that only happens when I shoot it WAY down. Like under 100 bar. So from that point of view, the noise is "normal" for mine. I understand it is the FX reg that does that. The Huma does not.
