No issues out of the box, still going strong!

Bad news travels fast, misery loves company I hear all the horror stories of the "problems out of the box" people have experienced, and my heart breaks for them! I've bought ten new air rifles since 2002 and one was a "basket case" that shouldn't have even shipped, although repaired it was never the same as new, dings scratches ect, from the repair process which degraded the pride and satisfaction of ownership. ($1100.00 gun), however the other eight I still own have all been remarkably reliable from day one, including Theoben, Airarms, Beeman, and FX, just haven't had any problems and I shoot them a lot! Lets hear about the great reliable day one guns still going strong, routine maintenance is expected but issues out of the box, even dings and scratches are unacceptable!

I've had my Hatsan bt65 sb qe in .25 for almost 2 years now. I use it almost daily about 5000 pellets and never one problem. Can't say that about the bullboss .22 its my basket case, strangely its the first one i grab to take out a garden pest. Needless to say it gets most my attention.

I also have an Ataman m2r 9mm with no issues and its 6 months old with 500 shot through it.

Beeman R9 .22, set it up with a scope and proceeded to hit what I aimed at! I did rebuild after 4 years of daily use and maybe 6000 pellets.

My basket case was an Impact Air Guns "RM100" in .020 cal. (note my user name) purchased from AOA back in 2014. I guess it wasn't lubed properly and the trigger had so much side to side play it was almost unusable. It would shoot when I first got it but during the first session maybe 100 pellets in, it seized up, pressure tube was gaulded, sheared the cocking shoe just a total disaster. I guess I should have sent it back but I took it to David Slade of Airgun Werks instead about an hour south of where I live. As bad as this sounds this story does have a silver lining happy ending. To their credit AOA sent me all the repair parts "fast", and it got me in the loop with David Slade, it took two trips to him $200.00 out of my pocket, I made the shims for the trigger and to my surprise the thing shoots very well to this day, running at 18.5FPE as long as I can cock it! David Slade has since laid hands on about everything I own, can't say enough about him and his old school work ethic, always got more than I expected from him, just don't be in a hurry!!! I consider an incident like this just a part of the "hobby" I learned a lot and made some good contacts. Whenever I contact Mr. Slade I refer to myself as "RM100GUY", he remembers me!!!
