Nice morning on the farm

I spent a nice morning shooting some targets and steel at the range, then took a short drive around a local pecan farm. Under the guidance of my buddy WYSHADOW, I able to knock out a handful of ground squirrels for the farmer. All the shots taken at about 25 yards with instant results except for one.

Kral Puncher Breaker .22
Centerpoint 4-12 FFP scope
Eunjin 28.5 grain pellets
36 FPE

only got good evidence of one...
At the center of the photo, just over the top of the irrigation canal. This one took a hit in the clavicle and nearly lost his head as a result. DRT.

Took a short walk today and bagged 6 more for the farmer. I was patrolling in my coupe, when I hit a sand pit and framed the car. I called my son who has just staryst driving. Boy got a kick out of helping ol dad get unstuck. While I was waiting for rescue to arrive, I walked the ditch bank. 2 adults and 4 young ones bit the pellet.

Next time I will park the car and walk the whole route.

Dagum, that one chipper had a 100 dolla in his pocket! That is the kind of pesting that I want to do.

Your quarry there looks to be a Mexican Ground Squirrel. No chit.

The farmers loose obscene amount of money to the ground vermin. Water and water handling is their single biggest cost. The irrigation ditches are the make or break issue for farmers here. Every rodent shot is more money for the producer.
