New Visitor

I think he's a little hungry. He ripped down my wifes bird feeder. This is the first year the bears came to visit. Two came up looking for food, but this bear is the best looking. Notice, his ears have been tagged. Fifty years living in Arkansas and this the first bear to come to our house. He stayed two days. The wife stopped feeding her animals for a week! The second day that he was here, I fired a shotgun over his head, and he ran about a hundred yards and came right back. My wife was not happy!

He is a young bear, but he was big. He came up to the edge of our back yard deck, and I loaded three slugs in the Browning auto five. He's tagged because he is considered a nuisance bear. When they have two tags, if they go to somebodies home again, and do damage or harm, they will be put down. I didn't want the bear put down, so I didn't call the Arkansas game & fish officers. I loaded the shotgun just in case he broke the sliding glass door. It was fun to see a bear up close. He was about twelve feet from me, when he was at the edge of the deck.

They were there first. Here in Pa. they made a big come back and last year a 550 pounder was killed a 1/4 mile from my house. They are not sacred of humans because humans are feeding them donuts and cakes. They walk around my place like they own the place and I just give them room and they keep moving... great picture by the way. people come to the Poconos from New York city and they see a bear the first thing they do is toss him food. they will not leave if food is there for them, Your wife did the right thing by picking up her feeders. My wife brings them in every night as we went through what you are going through. no food around.... no bears
