New Tuxing compressor

Model TXEDT-032

Got word of this from @josoo who is the Tuxing rep. It appears to be an upgrade from some other similar type compressors such as the Hatsan Lightening or Air Venturi.

Why do I know this? A few years back after I did my Monster Garage Tuxing two cylinder, I had some issues, and Josoo provided great customer support for any repair parts that were required. At the time I had told him that the owners manual basically was useless. He asked me to look and make suggestions so the Chinglish to English translation was better, and I did that for him. I also provided recommendations to make the compressor a better self contained unit. It appears the only recommendation they didn’t implement was a run of the “curly-q” tubing between the first and second stage, but they did use a good length of it after the second stage outlet prior to the dual filters. He emailed me these photos and a copy of the owners manual a few days ago.

Here are a few photos of the new Tuxing two cylinder compressor, not sure when it will be released or who will be selling it. From the specifications and photos it appears to be a solid unit. The old one that I modified is still working like a champ and my buddy Nick has it and uses it regularly.

How can anyone (in laymen's terms) visually tell if it's the improved version vs the original version?

Easy, surprised you can’t tell Yo. It has the double filter, cooling coils, radiator, water pump, inlet air filter, and water tank, plus the controls are on the top panel. Original version below:

Centercut, I've seen that compressor on Tuxing store's website on Aliexpress for $91715. Shipping to the U.S. is $73.80. It looks to be a very nice upgrade and I'd take it in a heartbeat if I was considering an Air Venturi or Hatsan Lightning. It looks to beat them on price and on features. The cooling system and the double filter tower which has a water separtor and a desiccant filter housing next to it is a major improvement over most competition in this price range.

Having cooling coils before the filter/dryer is good, because moisture will condense out more easily from the cooler air. Having cooling coils between each compression stage would be even better. I believe that some of the issues with the YH type compressors is the extremely high temperatures of the air in the final stage where polymer seals are used. Cooling coils just before the last stage would be of great benefit. I think compressors like the Tuxing TXEDT-032 have a lot of potential.

The Coltri MCH6 is a more robust design. The MCH6 has a few cooling coils between 1st and 2nd stage, between 2nd and 3rd stage, between 3rd and 4th stage, and before the condensate tower. But it's a $2500 compressor. If you are willing to gamble on Chinese QC and service, you could get a Chinese copy of the MCH6 sold by Tuxing for $1500.

Do you know the RPM of this motor. I wouldn't buy any direct drive compressor unless it was running a 4-pole 1800 RPM Motor versus the typical 3600 RPM Motor. To make things worse the most of these Chinese pumps are designed with 50 hz motors. Running them at 60 hertz is overclocking them. I would trade off filling speed for longevity and less maintenance. Also is this a 2 or 3 stage pump. I can see where the high pressure stage can be like the Yong Heng and have two stages built into one.

It's direct drive at 2800 rpms, and it's 2 stage compression. No change there.

The current Coltri MCH-6 basic price at Nuvair is 

Recently from an AGN member:

Mitch Dexter at Nuvair in Oxnard gave me a quote for the MCH6 Coltri as $2700 for the basic unit … minus the auto shutoff and the auto drain. Freight was $198 to pick up at the depot or add $155 for residential delivery … I live in NC.

So we’re looking at about $3K delivered if you live East. Probably less if you live in Cali but then there’s the $200+ state tax burden. I’d say if the Alkin is within a couple hundred delivered, go with that... but of course it’s totally up to the buyer. If you’re limited to $1K I’d say this recent offering from Tuxing would be a good choice. 
 
I have had the Tuxing with double filter in my shop for a few weks now I did a review a couple weeks back on it. It has been an very good compresor I did go from Royal purple to Seco tropical oil as it seems to be a much better fluid for it. But so far have no issues take a look at the initial review I did if you have any questions. So far this has been a very good cpompressor and the filtering system and cooing system is top notch I do not regret the purchase and so far can definantly give it a thumbs up for performance and operation.

Well I have the Tuxing TXEDT032 purchased from Amazon. Font oil cover has a ridge that interferes with the drain plug sealing. They sent me 2 more both times the same design flaw, strengthening rib interferes with seal on plug (could have been avoided just by drilling drain plug 1/4 inch lower). Made my own. Then it broke the oil breather, replaced it thinking it was vibration. Blew out the o-ring on the air filter, replaced that and tightened the air filter all the way down with a lubed oring to prevent it happening again. Then it blew the cap off the cooling tank, put a bag over that thinking it was the air above the fluid expanding. Nope I was wrong it was a leak from the air side to the cooling side. I always run the cooling longer after the compressor is off to let it cool properly. Well the last stage filled with coolant and since the coolant isn't compressible it would not start. 5 x 7l tanks filled over a 10 month period, don't use much air. Now I have it disassembled trying to diagnose all the issues and assemble it properly or just scavenge the air filters and chuck it. Luckily I bought a couple of Altaros boosters in the classifieds so I still have access to air while I figure this out. 

Conclusion you get a lot of seemingly good compressor parts for the money but I wouldn't consider it a compressor. If you have the time and the skills I think this unit can be fantastic but figure you need to put 10-15 solid hours into it. I'm still evaluating if it's worth my time. 

If anyone has a proper parts diagram I would really appreciate it. I do know I will have to redesign the sealing method for separation of coolant and high pressure air.

(Feb. 2022) I bought the "TXEDT032" Dec. 24th, 2021 on Amazon with a 4-year warranty and I have been using it for multiple PCP Air guns & (Two) 45 minute (68 cu ft ?) 4500 PSI SCBA tanks. The unit has about 2 HOURS +/- run time on it so far, which consists of the following usage:
A 10 min. test run after setup, 3 total top-offs of the SCBA tank(s), and a single EMPTY to FULL fill of an SCBA tank (all 4300 PSI fills).
DETAILS: (2) top-offs of a re-certified circa 2012 SCBA tank from approx. 3100-4300 PSI each time (approx. 25 min. +/- total), (1) top-off (same tank) from about 2800-4300 PSI (approx. 15 min. total), and a single complete fill on a different re-certified circa 2016 SCBA from 0-4300 PSI (approx. 60 min. +/- total) with no issues to mention.

NOTE: On the 0-4300 PSI fill, I stopped at 2500 PSI and let the compressor rest (Cooling system running) for 15-20 min., then continued to the 4300 PSI total fill.

All fill times were done outside in 45F - 48F degrees for the top-offs and about 43F +/- degrees for the EMPTY to FULL 4300 PSI fill.

UPDATE 5/30/2022

I now have used the compressor for over 5 hours. At the 5 hour mark I changed the oil for the 1st time (which is quite easy!). I'm using "Royal Purple" Synthetic oil ("Synfilm Recip. 100") - Reciprocating Air Compressor Oil. The Tuxing TXEDT032 compressor has been a great investment so far and the product seems to be of above average quality.
 
Is this a new compressor startup or a new problem that wasn't previously happening? Only way the cap comes off is with a rapid increase in pressure inside the tank. IF the compressor head has a leak high pressure air to coolant passage this could happen. If something upon startup pushes on the plastic tank side it can have a squeeze effect. Can you see air bubbles inside your tank?
