Got a new toy a couple days ago (HW95 Luxus) from AOA. It was recommended to me by johnL57 a member i have fallowed and have high regard for his opinion. I own a couple high end pcp's and was looking for something less complicated not to mention less expensive to enjoy shooting.It looks and feels like a well made piece of equipment and is allready shooing well with only about 100 shots through it.I put a Williams peep sight and will resist putting a scope as long as my eyes hold up. It weighs in at a mere 6.5lbs and shoots 14.66gr .22 pellets @ an average speed of 677fp more accurately than i can shoot it. The pictures are me sighting at 55yrds starting low left and continuing up and to the right.after a couple dozen pellets i put 5 into the beer can all 55yrs iron sights a rolled towel in front and a rear bag on a plastic card table.

~~~~~~~~~
That is a fine looking rifle. And an excellent group on the beer can. If I had discovered springers of this quality upon my re-entry into airguns my evolution to the PCPs might have delayed.
(2manyAirGunz), I still love my pcp's but its nice to just grab this Luxus and a tin of pellets and shoot! I believe it will improve my shooting skills too! one pellet at a time, holding on target, practicing fallow through, concentration and trigger squeeze. (DonC) yes sir that's my plan it came with several front sights ill try them all eventually. (Houli), thanks for the heads up on the pellets i"ll check them out.
Yes, it makes sense, but if you scoot the rear sight to the rear as much as you can and place your eye as close to the aperture as possible you will gain a wider field of view and maybe increased depth of focus without sacrificing accuracy or precision. It will make target acquisition faster, also. This is why target diopter sights extend back beyond the receiver.
If your system works for you, that's fine, but I think you owe it to yourself to try it. Have fun.
+1 on scrane, Lyman or Williams, maybe it was Marbles, I don't remember, did a study that proved a 20% increase in accuracy when the peep sight was placed closer to the eye. I know that sound counter productive and not right, but that was their conclusion. Plus moving the sight back some will increase the guns sight radius, which will help accuracy also. While I don't chime in on these forums anymore, I couldn't help myself here as I've installed a lot of peeps sights. I couldn't find the original study, I did find this from gungoals, so take it as you will, it's just info. Cheers!
HOW TO USE PEEP SIGHTS
Learning to use a peep sight is something every shooter should do. These sights are extremely fun to shoot with and you can acquire and shoot your targets very quickly. These sights work well even up to 200 yards.
Now that your sight is installed here’s how to use the sight. The first thing you want to do is get your face as close to the rear sight peep hole as possible. A common mistake from new shooters is holding your face to far back away from the rear sight. Staying to far away lowers your field of view and lowers your accuracy.
Instead get as close to the peep hole as you can. This gives you better precision shots and it’s the key to being successful with peep sights. Your accuracy will improve and your grouping will shrink dramatically.
While aiming through the peep sight you want the outer ring to be large visually with the end sight focused on
Nice Choice!
Are you sure that is a HW95?? Looks more like a HW30 or HW50 judging by the image and if it weighs only 6.5lbs the that narrows it down to a HW30 and the 50 weighs 6.8lbs and the 95 comes in at 7.5lbs, not to mention that I don't think the 95 sports a full length stock(that covers the breech block) but I could be mistaken on that last part.
In any case I'm sure you will like it once you give it time to break in. I know I sure love my HW30-UP and HW98.
