New swfa scope in the house and I'm impressed...

So I picked up a swfa 10x42 on black friday for $199 plus $7 shipping and I just mounted it this morning to my condor ss which might be a gd match for this gun. My first thought looking through her was how clear this scope is for the price plus how nice the reticle looks. I sighted it in with ease so time will tell on this scope but it sure seems like a good value....big Joe R. might be very right on this scope considering how many scopes he has used . Some pics

For what your getting it's really hard to beat plus a lifetime warranty .....I always thought the hawke vantage was a great deal but I'm really not sure they use all the metal inside like the swfa is using. The hawke is still a great value but I'm starting think at 199 this scope is even better and I compared the glass to my hawke frontier and the swfa is right on par .

I might buy another before sale ends ....not sure it outperforms a variable scope but it makes things simple but maybe a more knowledgeable person in scopes will chime in . I do find the yardage adjuster on this scope is very very smooth and I'm liking it on the rear which surprises me a little . For the price I dont think it will hurt anyone and I'm a big ebay guy with a few of these on My watch list with them selling for $200 plus used lol guess nobody is just looking at the swfa website .

On a negative note I found it easier to see the reticle at my 100 yard targets with the hawke frontier at same 10x power ....the swfa reticle is pretty fine but keep in mind the hawke is more money plus 50mm . My range is unique because the targets are in the woods with a lot of tree cover and in a open field I dont think it would matter much on either scope .

While the SWFAs are bomber they need to come out with an illuminated reticle in a 6 x 24 x 50mm for PCPs. Hunting/pesting with a fixed mag unilluminated scope is too limiting.

EXACTLY!!! i had several variable and fixed powered SWFA scopes. i found that the IR reticle would have proven handy at least 10-12 times over 2 years. i finally grabbed a couple falcon 3-18 with IR.

I have a 3-15x42 SS SWFA, and I love it EXCEPT for the lack of illumination. Otherwise the scope is fantastic. The glass is better quality than what would be expected in this price range, and it is amazingly light. The eye relief is perfect and FOV very very good at low power. Solid turrets. Amazing tracking. Add an IR reticle, this would be an epic scope. This badboy is on my R5M, and there it will stay.

Anyone know of a way to illuminate a SWFA?
