New rest for the bench.

I’m wondering if there’s pads for the clamps. Nothing came with the rest and it seems like you would want leather or something in there before it clamps down on the gun. What do you guys who use them do to protect the gun?

Sorry for taking so long to respond, and thanks for sharing what the rest is. I got it a long time ago and set it aside forgetting it altogether. Now that I know the link I’ll get the right bags. Thanks for sharing that. It’s pretty cool with the twist adjustment for the horizontal. And again sorry for not responding sooner, I really appreciate all the help. I guess I should only do one post at a time! Derp!

I have the cast iron version (Slingshot) of that rest and have two bags for it. One is a two inch Bald Eagle and the other is a narrow Protektor with the slick silver for sporter width fore ends. I have removed the windage cable and moved the handle to the screw that moves the top.

About a month ago I bought a new/used aluminum Slingshot without the windage top and put a 3" Protektor with slick silver. I also made some 3" bag riders out of some teflon. The rifles are more stable with the 3" over the 2".

Quality bags.

I built the rear bag rider out of a 1” brass rod, tapped it to fit the the Kraford adjustable stock peg, and machined the round rod to a V to fit the rear bag.

The front is a piece of 3” aluminum channel bolted to the the top of the Kraford extended trigger guard, so I can still use my bipod if I feel the need.

Now only if the wind will quit blowing! Ha
