Well wouldn't you know it, after reading,watching and implementing techniques talked about here I've managed to extend my furthest distance hit today.
I am am shooting a .25 Benjamin Varmint 900fps. My longest kill is less than 40 yards and I can hit paper @ 50 with pretty ugly groups, but that's not what I was after today.
I went to my brother in laws farm today so we could shoot and we placed a full 20oz Pepsi bottle on a fence post @ 118yds measured with a Simons LRF and took turns shooting off hand at it. Now the scope equipped is a fixed 4x32 Center Point with no mills sighted @ 23yds.
I managed to to hit it on the 7th shot which absolutely blew my mind. We were fighting wind gusts and the first 4 I took were to get me situated on trajectory and range and the 2 after were darn close. The last shot I watched the pellet go from right to left and smack it almost dead center. The report was very loud and I knew it wasn't the wind that took it over. We all let out a big yell and jumped around high fiving each other.
Well after wandering down and taking a look hoping I shot through the bottle I was VERY disappointed to see that I barely put a nick in it... Absolutely no puncture and it just barely tore the wrapper on the bottle.
WELL... Those results settled it for me. I am now anxiously awaiting the arrival of my JKHan Korsa PCP.
But im happy I can say I've hit my target with a springer at 100+ yards offhand.
