New pp and huma reg impact mk2 25cal

I have just received the power plenum last week and yesterday the huma regulator for my impact mk2 25cal 700mm . After some stupid mistakes and other distractions , I finally have made good progress with bad weather conditions I have had a limited time to do a truly good tune I have some consistent chrony results @ 125bar with the nsa 36.2 slugs @910. But the weather conditions stopped me from more accurate results so Monday is supposed to be better time will tell. The new parts will need more time for me to find out what my gun likes best.

Shot again Sunday the results were the same. I have the HST a half a turn from maxed out and the valve adjuster is past the fourth line. The original mk2 as I closed in the valve adjuster between the third and fourth line the gun slowed and was more quiet, this new setup seems to be the opposite as far as being quieter. But I cannot complain the gun @75yrd target was moa accurate just seems louder but it was very quiet outside and no foliage on the trees. One more thing in the past the gun always shoots slower as the temperatures drop it was 33 degrees and still. I believe that @910fps in these temperatures when the temperatures rise so will my speed. Also the 36.2 slugs do shoot 30+FPS slower than the jsb 34gr pellets so I believe these results are about where they should be with the current set up. I shoot in my back yard but this time of year I have a small time window to shoot because of the cold weather, generally about an hour or so. I could not shoot Saturday because of the rain and sleet so right now it’s a day by day to shoot pending weather conditions.

Just got done shooting today in 33 degrees, I have made no adjustments to the gun only the power wheel on #4 @820fps. The temperatures are not allowing me to do any more adjustments, but the accuracy could not be any better. I have not decided on my next move. More powerful hammer spring or the slug power kit so I can get away with less hst. Any advice is welcome.

I highly recommend the huma regulator, although the stock fx regulator lasted a long time before failing set at 160bar. But the huma is known for its rapid recovery time between shots.

Here is a video of the problem. Take like 20 min to go back to 135 bars

Update, I have just installed the slug power kit. I have already backed off on the hst several turns and after the installation my first shots with the valve adjuster around the 4th line with the nsa 36.2 slugs @970’s . That’s a little hotter than I what to be so with limited time to shoot, temperatures 34 degrees and loosing light I powered down to #4 @940 shot good so I turned down to #3@850ish so I could shoot more and fill less I had 15-20 deviations ? Then I turned down to #1 with 810-840fps deviation. Seems reduced hst got no where and valve adjuster was not changing much? End results not tuned but I have the speed. I just have to spend some more time shooting and adjusting. Any input is welcome, thanks again.

I finally got a grip on the tune! Too embarrassed to say the stupid things that I have done. Helps using the correct reading glasses, and I do believe that the slug power kit is worth it even if you use the pin probe or the original. The extra power and adjustable is worth it. I know that I feel that I’m talking to myself on this post. Lol. Good luck to all

Curious where you ended up with the valve adjuster after installing the slug power kit. My velocities don’t increase much at all from 2 lines to 4 lines, maybe 20fps. Less than 2 and fps drops faster. Accuracy seems very sensitive to small changes of the valve adjuster though.

Sorry to go off topic but does everyone else’s regulator pressure fluctuate as much as mine with extreme temperature differences? 20F reg@118-120 - 70F reg@130-132. Talk about chasing your tail to tune!

Mine is the same valve 1st and 2nd line give me the bigger difference in FPS. I just installed a new reg piston and reg housing on mine when i shoot outside 30* then come inside mine reg goes from 100 to 105-110 bars inside temperature is 70*

I have run out of the 36.2 slugs and a friend gave me some 33.5 slugs. Now the regular is just under 110bar and the valve is around two and a half lines very consistent @950fps. The problem before was that I thought the regulator was @125bar and with the correct reading glasses seen that it was @135bar . Also the valve adjuster knob was loose so as I turned it it was not always connecting and doing nothing. This time of year with a small time window to shoot adjust mess with the chrony and fight the weather I feel rushed and make stupid mistakes. I do know when the temperatures are below 40 degrees the gun shoots slower than when it’s warmer. I did order the nsa 34gr new slugs and expect them to be delivered today but it’s supposed to rain all day cold and windy not ideal for me. But I do have the gun under control again and it’s performing better than expected. I will give results with the nsa 34gr when the weather allows and it does not look promising for the next few days, but the weather perditions are not very accurate here lately so time will tell. Good luck to all

I received the nsa 34.9gr slugs yesterday and today I shot @50yrd target because it was easier to strap down my chrony and shoot level for content readings. The 35 degrees temperatures along with the 20+ mile winds ands to my shooting enjoyment, I’m lucky that I can shoot in my back yard out to 125yrds. Now the new nsa slugs were shooting @930 but the problem that I had was the pin probe was sometimes getting hung up on my enlarged tp so I put the original enlarged probe back in. So now I’m shooting @920 I lost 10fps no big deal at least I’m not getting pellets or slugs hug up. But on max very consistent @920 but turning down the power wheel I loose 10fps and on min it shoots @875-880fps not a big difference but I shot over two magazines with the largest deviations was under 10fps. I am not complaining just that I thought it would be a much greater drop in velocity from max to min. The way I had setup before the pp and slug power kit it would shoot @910-920fps and on min it would shoot the jsb 25gr @840fps but now min I will have to shoot the jsb 34gr, the 25gr would come out too hot for accuracy. But it’s too cold and windy to do any more shooting for a while. Good luck to all.
