New MTC Optics King Cobra FFP 6-24x50 Review!

I appreciate MTC coming out with a FFP scope. Good. 👍🏼

I appreciate that MTC allowed the turrets and the reticle of this scope to talk to each other. 👍🏼 No MOA reticle talking gibberish to the MIL turrets. 😊

😕 However, I don't know who wrote the scope description that I read on one of the mayor AG sellers (probably others have this as well...).

But who were they trying to kid...?

🔶 When promoting its parallax distance they write that the scope is "suitable for airgun use" — and we all know that when someone specifically mentions that the parallax is "for airgun use" we understand 10 yards minimum. Otherwise don't say anything, state "15 yards" and done.

🔶 Now the scope writer can say that the scope is for "close-range shooting" and get away with it. — But to say that the parallax of this scope is for "ultra-close-range shooting" — well... 🤔

Stating something does not make it so.

⚠️ STATING SOMETHING DOES NOT MAKE IT SO!

Where is the difference between a miswording and a lie? 🤔

🔶 The UTG BugBuster series of 3-9x and 3-12x scopes features a 3-yard parallax minimum. Close enough to bust bugs in your yard.

If UTG were to say this scope is for "ultra-close-range shooting" they have the right to. Because I know of no scope that focuses this close — and that's the correct meaning of ultra — to an extreme in comparison to the normal. 👍🏼

Let's all be truthful and leave the word twisting to the politicians. 😊

15-yard minimum parallax is when the scope is set on 24X. Do you need to see a 10 yard target at a full 24 power? This is a first focal plane scope so zooming down will bring the scope in focus while keeping the aiming point true at shorter ranges, from memory (as I don’t have one here) it will be clear 10 ten yards at 15x and 8 yards at something around 10x.

It’s a real technical challenge to get a higher power scope to zoom down at these really short ranges while keeping the it clear and well-spaced out to infinity. That’s why many firearm scopes start later at 25 yards or even further.

I've been thinking about the scope in the OP .IF only the name was changed to just... Cobra :)
