Greetings and best wishes to everyone! I registered recently after reading a few interesting topics and would like to introduce myself. I've had a lifelong interest in air guns since the early 70's; my first springer was a Beeman R1 which I purchased in 1984, and I remember it like it was yesterday. That gun is long gone and, though, I really wanted a .22 for my purposes, all they were stocking were .177's so that's what I bought and it was a wonderful gun. I never owned the R1 in .22, but today I do have an R1 in .20 (and an R9 in .20). Like many people with this common interest, I have watched the PCP evolution for decades and own a few myself. I am so grateful to have this resource and hope to participate in the future!

Thanks for all the welcomes! Here's a bad job on some poor pictures of the guns I mentioned; I really wanted to try to figure out the best way to fill the window or body of the post for better viewing, but I was unable to locate a thread to guide me...thanks for your patience - it'll come together eventually...

Hi,

New member here so bear with me also just getting into Air Guns. I am from the Chicago land area and have applied for my FOID card but finding out that could take a while to get so using the time to learn as much as I can. Hope to hear from people in the area and anyone that can help. I am spending a lot of time reading here and watching videos before I buy anything. Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.

Thanks,

John

Welcome to the family and my second springer was the R1 in .177 and I've owned 3 or 4 that are long gone. I've owned 2 RX2s in .22 and I sold one to my cousin because he had to have it but I had to replace it because it a shooter. BTW, nice picture and I love the red back ground because that's what I do as well when taking picture of my toys. I've taken numerous greys with my R1 and even a fox that caught my friend and I off guard with one well place shot between the eyes at 25 yards.

Awesome replies 😃 - thanks! Well, it looks like sizing a photo to 1100 pixels horizontal fills the body of the post pretty well in my view - while composing and before posting, it was a different smaller dimension. Yes, IMO the RX/HW90 series were/are the most advanced break barrels, but big and heavy - still a nearly perfect, adjustable power and serviceable gun. Speaking of big and heavy I do still have a Kodiak in 25...will post a pic if I have an opportunity...thanks again and this is post #10 so I passed the robot test...
