Hey Centercut, is the RAW a new gun? Curious as to why you went with the .20 instead of .177 or .22?

I thought the .20 was kind of on the way out... well, not on the way out, just inferior to the .22 and limited on ammo choices?

I admit my ignorance when it comes to the .20 cal. I don't know much about the .20 other than having shot one a lot (Sheridan .20) when I was a kid, 35+ years ago. I always wanted a .22 instead and I guess that stuck with me. I thought the .22 was better and the .20 sucked. I was like 10 years old and always was looking for something better! Kind of like all of us air gunners now! Enlighten me. Tell me why a .20 instead of .177 or .22.

Thanks bud. Have a great day. Stoti

When Crosman stopped making .020 CP 14.3 pellets that really hurt us .020 cal. fans, I have a Rapid 12 .020 I bought in 04, only ever shot the CP 14.3's, I still have a hoard and pick up any I find I can afford. The JSB and H&N's won"t take the velocity as well as the CP's, always ran the CP's at 960fps around 30fpe. These groups were shot the first day out with the Rapid in 2004, the group my buddy shot was around .375"ctc at 50yds he didn't even know how to shoot! Of course he was younger and had better eyes! I've had this target for over 14years. Hearing about the new JSB .020 pellets made my day, I'll be first in line to try them, I've been stocking up on .020cal. pellets just in case everyone quits making them, this is GREAT news wonder when they will be available?

Interesting,

I'm a .20cal fan from way back and have been waiting for it to reemerge!

Kinda the best of both worlds in my book !

Flatter shooting than .22 and packs more punch than a .177 with accuracy next to none... An old friend calls it the magical caliber and I have to agree.

My HW80 and HW97 will be giving these a whirl for sure!

Hopefully the head sizes aren't so large as the regular 13.73 grain .20 pellets. It fits so tight in my RAW TM1000 that they must be forced in, and the accuracy is horrible...WIll try the H&N and see if they are any better in the RAW.

That doesn't sound good!

I would say you have some kind of lead in problems with that gun. Maybe a bur on the barrel port or something. They do usually fit snug in a LW barrel but that's what makes them so accurate! Something is not right...

Centercut-

The H&N Barracudas shoot great in 20 caliber. Hadn't tried anything else by H&N in that caliber since the Barracudas shot just as good as the discontinued Crosman Premiers.

Have you tried Crosman Cylindricals in your RAW? They seemed a little looser than the other 20 caliber pellets I tried but shot surprisingly well in my old Silver Streak but only sub par in my RWS48 which I no longer have. Should have kept that one since they are no longer made in 20 but decided to sell it due to the Crosman Premiers (its favorite food) being discontinued and didn't shoot JSBs as accurately nor anything else for that matter.

If your gun doesn't like JSBs in 20 caliber then either you got a bad tin or batch or I think you may have a problem with your barrel or try the Benjamin Cylindricals and Barracudas and the new JSB Heavys (bur doubtful it would be accurate in your gun if yours doesn't even like the regular exacts and think it would fit even tighter in your gun) and hope and pray they shoot good or its time to change barrels or caliber.

If you have a LW barrel then it should normally shoot a variety of different quality brands of pellets accurately.

@stoti, it’s my TM1000, I got a deal on a .20 barrel and shroud in .20 so I thought I’d try it out. Quarter sized groups at 50 yards with 13.7 JSB compared to less than dime sized groups with the .177 in 10.3 JSB. .20 are a very tight fit. Haven’t tried any other pellets. Thought the .20 might be good... Not horrible just not as good as the .177.

Bravo, JSB..

Been doing pcp rifles for about 25 years and .20 cal is my all time favorite. 15.89 grain isn’t exactly “heavy”, but it’s a start. The Koreans had it figured out 15 years ago with their 25 grain .20 ammo in hi-power pcp. That is some ballistic badassery even by today’s standards! Sadly, that ammo is NLA and no one builds high power .20 because the uninformed masses always think bigger is better 🙄
