New impact stuck barrel.

Though I don't have an Impact yet, I have seen videos of folks giving it a twisting motion as they try to pull it out.

You don’t want to twist it till it starts moving...the barrel has a locating notch at 6 o’clock at the breech...

If you don't need to remove its, don't!

Hair dryer won't hurt to rule out the chance of loc-tite or similar adhesion wasn't applied to secure the barrel. I just wouldn't tug or rotate with much force until you get it figured out! I have 0 clue about the fx impact barrel but from my knowledge they use a thimble. I am guessing barrel screws into thimble, but it may just press in and be retained by said screw idk. I would worry about doing damage to the transfer port that is on the thimble side of it all so without the gun dissembled I would take caution with how much force is applied in an attempt to remove. After removing the thumb screw the barrel should just slide out. The barrel could be unlubed and stuck on the orings that hold it at the action and valve blocks so more effort may be needed to slide it out, however it should not need more than hand effort to remove. 

The transfer port on the barrel is brass, and easily damaged. Sometimes when inserting the barrel and securing the thumb screw people then play with the shroud. Removing and inserting the shroud while not properly securing the thumb screw cause the barrel to rotate against the locating pin inside the valve block damaging the transfer port.

Now you try to remove, the brass is deformed and the locating pin is embedded in the transfer port instead of in its groove...

So long story to explain but if you remove the thumb screw and try to rotate the barrel it may return the locating pin to the correct position to then remove the barrel.

I'd be more concerned with the gouged up transfer port. If it was me I'd buy a new brass part....can't think of the name of that at the moment.

WOW... My FX arrived last Friday, I removed the barrel to clean, just 1 set screw (No Thumb screw on current Impact X models), and the barrel came out like butter. Maybe since it was a pre-impact X it was sitting around lost it's lubrication... something definitely not right. Damn sorry to hear and worse to see.

Yeah you can replace that brass barrel inlet cheap, probably 10$. Or just deburr it.

That is strange it was so stuck.

But it will be a Desaster to remove the brass part from the barrell, because FX fixed the brass with Loctite on the thread.

Isn't the brass part called the thimble? 

I'd bet you a donut that something was stuck on the transfer port. That looks like something was holding the TP and was 'ovecome' by twisting thus resulting in the locator pin gouging out the new slot in the brass thimble and the TP damage. I've never been inside my impacts so no clue what it could be but otherwise its just a straight pull out....
