New Impact Issues

Reading all this and having problems with my FX Impact .25 makes me think that I made a big and an expensive mistake.
I have exactly same problem as a topic starter mentioned, I have found a way to overcome it, but it is an ugly way. I can only use valve regulator to adjust the power, so POI doesn't changed after some idle period. At the moment, my not regulated marauder .22 rifle shoots better(more accurately and predictable) when it is in its working pressure range than the FX Impact.

I spent $1899(rifle) + 550(scope) + 320(evolution bipod) + $60(2 extra silencer rings) + $30(0.3 cal exit cap, since .25 was causing pellet clipping) + $100(2 WIKA pressure gauges) + $150 (sideshot magazine with adapter) + $1299 (compressor) + $649(air tank) that is whooping over $5K!

Isn't that too much?

ps. I also cancelled my pre-order of FX Crown due to these problems.

My impact is new, cool and flawed.

Functionally perfect, but the finish on the silver is stained. But it works so well I didn't want to mess with shipping it back and waiting on AOA to get another one so I took their pittance of a discount and moved on. When looking thru the Athlon scope, I can't see any flaws and it's stacking .30s @50yds on a breezy day.

Second stage of the trigger has the hairsbreath of a click before it goes off, I'm used to a little more notice when I reach that point so I'll adjust it some. I think this is causing me to open up the spread at 75yds as it tends to go off before I'm really ready. Still good, but not as good as 50yds.

It was a LOT of money. No question. Wish the receiver hadn't been flawed, but it performs so well I've all but forgotten the stains.

My FX streamline stacks pellets at 75yds and can do quite well at 100 too, I expect the impact will do even better once I get it dialed in.

Not really thrilled with the FX No Limits scope mounts either. Cool feature, but I am having to lift my head off the cheek rest most every time to get a full sight picture. I've got some high dollar Vortex picatinny 30mm low rings I'm going to try this week and see if that helps.

"vladb"Is there any way to return FX Impact that is 2.5 months old? I am so upset...
Usually there is only a 1 month return period, after one month your impact still should have a 1 year repair warranty.

Okay okay Its not as if all hope is lost. The gun is can be a little unpolished. However, there are many things you can do to make it polished/shoot well. I highly recommend (if your FX Impact is not shooting as you think it should be) that you take a look at sending yours to Ernest Rowe. He is a legendary Fx Impact tuner on here and can polish your impact to shoot amazingly. His machining knowledge is vast and he is a busy man. But you will not be disappointed.

Do you know if repair and transit time to & from AoA ( full week one way for me ) counts toward that one month? That would be a pretty good SCAM, recieve a defective gun, send it for repair, still not right and get a "sorry, times up for a refund "

Don't mind me, I am just cynical since receiving a $2000 pieice of crap

Repair Time it took for my Impact for me here in Georgia is:
One week to get to AoA
One week for repair
One week back to you.
(repair time may differ depending on how busy they are and other factors)

I don't think they will count the repair as part of the 1 month refund time. They wouldn't do that don't worry. Although I would only give them one chance to repair it. If its still not up to standards then, feel free to ask for refund.

Sad to hear these problems with the impact. I have had a Bobcat 30 for 2 years and never had a problem, it might not be as sexy as the Impact I just got but it is FAR more accurate! My black impact was good at first but it has now developed an attitude it seems to have a regulator issue when freshly filled it has no power then freaks out and gets really loud and not accurate. Not very impressive for such an expensive gun, especially since its only a month old! Not sure what to do back to AoA or Ernest I hear he's the best.

"MIAirgunner"Have you checked the set screw on the power wheel? When at max there should be little gap or movement with the sliding piece next to it. I can send a pic later.

I had the same problem.
I had a pretty big gap. Turned the screw about 15 turns w/ the allen (not 15 complete revolutions.) Picked up the fps about 10, but string length went way down. So I backed off to power 4.

"isaacrm1"So was it fixed?
I just recieved a tracking # last night. It is scheduled to be delivered next Monday.

For anyone who has had to return a airgun to AoA for warranty repair: do they include a note on what they did to fix the rifle?
I believe they do have some notes included, however i believe my impact had extremely to the point and rudimentary notes. Some things claimed to be done to the rifle were not included in the notes.

After fighting with the Impact for 4 shooting sessions I asked for a refund. After work on Monday and Tuesday, I tried to sight it in but it sprayed pellets and change POI. My last two groups on Wednesday showed promise but I had to stop as it was near the reg pressure ( 140? ). Today I pulled it out to find it was shooting high and two (2) inches to the right, it was missing the index card I had the target sticker on.

I changed the scope and rings and still had the same problem of fighting to sight it in. I gave up, put the scope back on my other PCP, a Marauder, and had that rifle sighted in in 3 shots.

I tried JSB Kings, King Heavy & AA 25.4gr

The note from AoA basically said nothing was wrong with the Impact

The dealer I purchased it from said they would contact AoA for an RA and let me know from there.
