New HW100BP-K arrived

My HW100 BP-K has arrived and it's soooo cool. This is my 1st side lever gun and it cycles very smooth and is extremely quiet. .177 shooting an average of 16.8 FPE. After installing the free Weihrauch scope that came with it and sighting it in, I put 2 mags (28 pelllets) inside a 1" circle at 48 yards using CPUMs. When I have the time I'll shoot enough to lead the barrel in and shoot over the chrony to get an idea when she falls off the regulator. Next is to order more .177 pellets for testing, and I'm looking at the Discovery Optics VT-3 4-16 X 44 SF compact FFP scope.

This could very well become my favorite gun.

AND IT'S A LEFTY!

im right handed but im choosing always a left side lever. it very easy to use the lever that way for me.

i like the plastic cheak piece - a lot of bullpups have only bare metal. not very nice in the cold.

you could save some length with a shorter but bigger in diameter moderator.

how is the hw moderator doing ? i like it very much for .177 - its so cheap and good!!

Very nice and compact!

Never seen the HW100BP-K - Thanks for posting!

I have a .177 HW100S that I detuned for target shooting (about 5 magazines per fill) and a .22 HW100S FSB that is my main pesting and small game hunting rifle. Both are excellent shooters!

You have to love the robust, easy to load, low profile magazine Weihrauch guns have. A huge plus is that you can't accidently double-load a pellet.

intenseaty22, I purchased it from AOA. I would always rather give my $ to an american company when possible, and AOA had a holiday deal with a free Weihrauch 3-9 X 40 AO scope and they had 2 lefties in stock. I could not get a response from any of the overseas dealers as whether they had the left hand version.

Apparently the version I wanted isn't available stateside. The HW100 BP here has a longer barrel making it a 40" long rifle as opposed to 32" overseas. The BP-K measures 28 1/2" from butt to muzzle of the moderator. I not sure of the weight, but it's hefty. However it's very well balanced and the weight only helps stabilize it when shooting off hand.

I had a difficult time cleaning the barrel as the magazine port is narrow. I couldn't get the pull through into the muzzle even using the straw trick so I heated the moderator and gave it a twist. to my surprise it separated from the cone and that stayed on the barrel. After that I no problem feeding down the barrel and using a dental pick to pull it out to place a patch in it. The patch below is a good example as to why one should clean a new barrel before shooting. Which makes me wonder, If dealers are test firing their guns before shipping them, how much gunk is shot into the moderator from this? The whole cleaning process took me a good 35 minutes and I pulled 44 patches through. I used Goo Gone on the patches and it does a nice job without damaging o-rings. The air reservoir is removable and an adapter is supplied to dump the air while off the gun. Supposedly spares will be available that can be carried in the field and swapped out.

Going through my inventory of pellets I already have all the .177 domes JSB produces, some RWS Super domes, Crosman lights and heavies, AAs, and Falcons, so I need to purchase some H&Ns for testing.

My mom has been in the hospital the last 2 days and had a pacemaker installed today. I don't see me having a chance to do any shooting for awhile so chrony work will have to wait.

After shooting several mags of CPUMs, I decided to open the can and see if there was any pellet debris as I hadn't washed these pellets. Nothing I could see, but when I reattached the can and tightened it up, the barrel rotated ever so slightly. Now she's shooting 2" to the left at 48 yards. I tightened it the best I could by hand, and now it's time to re-sight the scope and see what I get.
