Any ideas on expansion of this slug? The hollow point looks rather tiny. I’ve shot 12.5 grain NSA slugs at only 770 FPS and it would almost punch through the bottom of a 5 gallon homedepot bucket full of water, I was rather disappointed. NSA .22 slugs expand really well, I was really excited about 177 slugs but not sure anymore. Guess if you need pure penetration the 177 slugs might be the ticket.

I love the accuracy potential of 177 slugs at longer ranges, but frankly have now standardized on the Baracuda Hunters for 177 pesting. I find them to be very accurate with predictable pesting terminal performance from my EDgun Lelya2.0 at speeds any where from 750-900+ FPS. Right now I am shooting them at 900 FPS.

In regards to 177 slugs and expansion/penetration, I must admit that the penetration is desirable if wanting to take headshots on pests not usually dispatched with 177s. That’s all I will share on that. I can not recommend them in situations where overpenetration matters. They can certainly make some tiny groups at crazy ranges.
