New Hatsan 135 in .25 caliber

I had been reading the reviews on the 135 for a while and was thinking about trying one out. Well, thanks to a sale at Midway USA I bit the bullet and ordered a .25 caliber. These guns are extremely well built and powerful. The stock is beautiful, the finish is perfect, and the .25 is one of my favorite cheaper to shoot calibers. The discussion of the cocking weight is rather overblown. I am 71 years young and really don't have a problem with it. I figured it would build my upper body strength and would be handy to own when one of my pcp's needed to be serviced. I have probably put 50 rounds through it in a couple of days and it shows potential ( I hear it takes 2-300 rounds to get one of these to settle down). I am able to get around 11/2 to 2 inch groups now at 20 yards. In looking at the overall quality of this Hatsan, I cannot believe they can sell it for $210.00 and still make money. Haven't decided if I will put a scope on it, I miss a lot of close shots trying to get my scopes adjusted and may just keep it open sights. The mechanism they build into this gun to make it recoil less is amazing. I have a Diana 134 that kicks more than this does.

If anyone else out there has a 135 please respond and let me know how it is working for you.

Hi there, i have the 125 model in 25 cal and love it! Very powerful and quite accurate at longer distances, i have shot mine out to 101 meters, unfortunatly with hatsans they can either be great out of the box but then you can get a real lemon with realy poor accurasy and buildqality, mine 125 is not so well built, very poor metall inside and the safety broke when i was taking it apart for cleaning when i bought it, but the power and accurasy makes for it, i have several hatsans and one favorite is the 55s, very nice build and accurate also

I am still working with mine. I can smell the oil burning out of the piston. I also cleaned the barrel. The fliers are getting less frequent and I think it is settling down. Also started using a pellet seating device to make the shots more consistent. I ran it over the chrony and I'm getting 670fps with 28.4 pellets. Should destroy squirrels, my main prey.

I purchased the Hatsan 135 QE in .25 cal because it offered more pellet choices and better velocity. I shot about a dozen different pellets through the chrony. The Predator GTO 16.54 alloys were by far the best velocity at 915 fps and also the best accuracy at 1" groups at 25 yards. I matched a UTG 10X scope to handle the robust action of that powerful vortex which has worked well over the past 2 years.

I bought a refurb 95 recently. Premiers, Hp's, Points, Pirahnas, Redfires, Superpoints, several wadcutters, Greens and Sniper Lites so far. Still have not found the pellet for it. All of them shoot into about an inch at 20 yards. All of them tease with groups and then produce fliers that open up the group. The Pirahnas produce two groups, and you can predict the impact by how they fit when you load them.

I have not tried a seating tool yet.

When I get a small impact to remove the stupid stock bolt lock screw, I will tear it down. Even with digging out the good drivers after watching the reviews, finding a bit that fit the screw well and smacking it a couple of times pretty good, it did not come out. Even worse, you have to hold the other side while you try to take it out, since the bolt just spins.

I pulled the scope and sighted the Trail back in for this weekend while I locate the small impact set. A socket screw costs too much? A square shoulder to keep it from spinning when it is loose would be nice to, but the little screw makes less sense than the 11 mm dovetail.

I considered taking a socket big enough to clear the screw, and grinding it down so it had two tabs to engage the slot in the nut under the screw, so I could at least adjust the tension of the stock screw, but then set it aside till I get around to repairing it correctly. Shooting up another thousand pellets isn't helping anything at this point unless I just find one that it likes a lot.

Amazing guns for the money, and i am happy with my purchase, but that screw has to go or be modified to where taking it out of the stock is easy to do in the field. This one is going to require a shop to take the stock off, and the reviews have discussed this problem multiple times. I knew it was a soft screw with need for a driver that fit before I tried to take it out because of the reviews, and still failed.

Did I mention I am a retired professional mechanic/machine set up person?

I use a marble for a pellet seating device. Just push it in till the pellet goes "click."

I have an Athlon Talos 3-9x40 on a ZR mount on my .25 cal 135 and that works well. I've been able to plink a 2 inch spinner out to 50 yards with it. I don't have enough range in my yard to shoot further. On my .30 cal 135, I have a Williams FP-GR-TK aperture sight and that is a very nice pairing. I took off the OEM open sight.

My .25 Hatsan Edge they make some fine rifles for your hard earned $$$.
