Hello

New guy to the forum here.

So about four years ago I was cleaning out the old closet and rediscovered my old Crosman 2100 Classic and rear cocking 1377 that I’ve had since the mid 1980’s. Haven’t touch them in who knows how long. I gave the old rifle a couple of pumps, cocked it and pulled the trigger. All be damned if it didn’t fire off with a satisfying pttfff. Then all of a sudden all the memories started flooding back to me and found that I wasted the remainder of the day in the backyard plinking away like I was 12 years old again.

From that day I’ve had a renewed obsession with air guns. I was big into the pumpers back then. Always wanted a Benjamin 397 and a 392 alone with their Sheridan cousins the .20 caliber blue and silver streak. So I went out and got my childhood dream guns. I’m a Crosman fan through and through and it wasn’t long before I also had the newer 1377 and 1322. I’ve played around with them and modified them some and then got another 1322 which I’ve turned into a custom pumper Carbine.

I used drool over the RWS break barrels in the Cabela’s catalogs when I was a teenager too. I hadn’t had that much experience with break barrels and as I said for better or worst I’m a big Crosman/Benjamin fan so I started out with a couple NP2 break barrels in .177 and .22. They’re great but I’m not sure if I’ll continue on with the break barrels as much. More recently this summer I also got my first Crosman custom shop 2400KT in .22 caliber (first CO2 gun for me also) that I’ve happily named it the “Bunny Blaster” even though I really don’t plan on shooting rabbits with it. All I have to say it’s awesome to shoot and it’s my new favorite. It’s been a blast these past couple of years rejuvenating my airgun obsession. Although my wife might disagree.

Anyways it’s time move up in the airgun world and join ranks with the big league crowd I get into the PCP game. I think I’ll start next year out with the Benjamin Marauder pistol in a carbine configuration with Hill moderator and bepinger. I really enjoy my 2400KT so I figure the Prod will be just as enjoyable and make a excellent first PCP for me to play around with. I suspect it’ll probably become my new new favorite gun.

I’ve never owed, shot or tuned a PCP before. I’m reading, watching and trying to absorb as much information as I can. I’m sure I’ll have some questions. It looks like there’s a well of useful information here and good people willing to share and pass along their knowledge. For that I’m thankful I found this website and will be much appreciative of all the information I’ll get from it I’m sure.

Anyways just wanted to say howdy to you all and you might be hearing from me from time to time.

Happy Thanksgiving

Welcome to the forum and back into the airgun craziness. There are so many awesome people on here that can help you along the way. I am 49 and still have my first airgun. A .20 cal sheridan blue streak i got for Christmas when I was 12 or 13. I got back into them about 18 years ago by accident and im building my airgun arsenal slowly. Looking forward to your future purchases and stories. Happy Thanksgiving.

whoohoo! I finally got my first PCP!!

I know, I know, the Prod is last weeks news for the majority of you guys and about as interesting as anything that comes out of Nancy Pelosi's trap when most of you guys are talking about FX's, Daystate's and the like. But for me, it's like comparing a Henry rifle to a musket when comparing the Prod to what I've been shooting up until now. No more single shot, no more pumping after each shot, no more CO2 running low, no more it's too cold to shot with CO2, no more magnum NP2 recoil. All I can say is, wow! who knew it could be so good? it's just crazy I hadn't done this long ago.

Anyways, I haven't gotten to shoot it all that much yet. cold and snowy here in the mile high area right now. And this work stuff and these little people that live in my house just seem to take up a pretty good chunk of my spare time. Shooting 5 yards in the basement just isn't going to cut it very long with this gun. Still have to get the scope zeroed in for longer range and sort out what lead it will like to eat. I picked up several verities for it to sample already.

thanks for the welcome guys. I've been hanging out in the background mostly reading and learn lots from you all. a lot of good stuff is happenin' here. thanks again

Congrats, and welcome to the addiction. Hope the Prod serves you well. Yes a lot of guys on here talk about their FX and Daystates, but I believe that there are a lot of us guys that have to work for a living that are happy just to have a PCP under $800 that they can actually shoot when they have the time. Which is never enough. So enjoy the Prod and don't dream too much, you still have to support the wife and those little people that are wandering around your house. They are both more important than slinging lead.

Enjoy.

absolutely! no doubt about it. without question, family comes first and foremost. nothing in the world could take the place of my beautiful wife and two beautiful daughters.
