New Gauntlet arrived today!!

"Buckeye"
"Courtland"Got mine today !!
You are going to love it.
Let me know what you think of the trigger.

I just did my trigger today, pretty easy to do, even for a Polish fat guy. It is 1000X better, micro creep, and feels to be under a pound. I will hopefully be able to shoot this weekend, but the weather is looking crappy.
I need to adjust the trigger on my 177 cal. I'm waiting on a 23ci tank to be delivered. So I will wait and adjust the trigger when I change the bottle so I don't have to drain it again and remove part of the stock. My 22 cal should get here Wed so I will know if that trigger needs to be massaged too.

"spysir"Goo deal, thought you might like the trigger with slight work. Should help groups a bit at least a lighter trigger helps me. If you ever get inside the rifle istself we would love to see detailed pictures.

Go shoot sumpin,

John

Her is a pic of the trigger. No lube inside, except for on the safety spring. Im guessing that is the reason for being so gritty. Pretty easy to take this gun down and get to the trigger.

If anyone needs to get the bolt out, there is a spot in back of bolt for an allen wrench that holds the bolt handle to the bolt. Everything gets exposed when you get the trigger totally off of gun. The back screw on trigger goes through both tube to secure everything. I found this out when I took off trigger and dumped the piston and sling and spacer on the floor. I panicked a little because i didn't see the order they came out. Thats as far as i went with breaking it down, wasn't sure if i could go any farther.

Black diesel, let me know how your trigger is and what it looks like on the inside.
Good learning process seeing this guns insides.

Thanks, does look 100% similar to a QB. But.
Those may well be 2mm adjustment screws and from years gone by w/QB's many like to install a 2mm "jam nut"/extra nut on the inside to prevent movement.

And depending on what one likes perhaps install a " spring plunger screw" - might be called that- . I have used one set with a 1.5lb screws and if you like 1.5lb single stage it was a truly outstanding trigger.
This would be the WRONG part but an example

You said , drop the piston ,sling & spacer on the floor. But the Hammer/striker will still not come out, correct? Trying to see just how close parts are to a QB

Thanks for the pi

John

Spysir,

Thanks for the idea on the plunger screws, I will be looking into these. I need to do something, because the set screws on the trigger are all loose. I feel that these could easily move and change the setting i have them set to. I even put locktite on and still loose.
You are correct the hammer/striker would not come out, just the spring, spacer and the spacer that goes through the spring.( don't know what to call that)
I will be taking this apart again, and i will get you pics of everything.
Thanks
Scott

Got my .22 Gauntlet today. The fit and finish seem better than what I have seen in videos and on the forum. The trigger feels like 2lbs but is smooth, I still have to test it. I put a scope on and put 40 shots through it and I was pleasantly surprised! This gun is accurate, quiet, feels good, and did I mention accurate? For $299 this seems to be a tremendous value! If you are on the fence about ordering one, do it and do it now. You will not regret it. Excellent entry level PCP and just fun for more experienced. I'll offer more when I can do it but for now I'm cooking since I have to work Wednesday and Thursday night. Bill

Bill,
Congrats on getting your Gauntlet.
Sounds like you are another satisfied customer.

That is a QB trigger...I am positive....just did a QB last night.

This is a good thing.

Anyone have a picture of the how the tank attaches?

Is it a drop down like a QB79? Or screws into tube? (wouldnt think so)
Have a picture of thew tube?

Very curious about this as it related to the alleged 1,900psi reg set point on the .25 - way more than "I" run in a QB.
To run 1,900psi on that reg it will need a 3,000psi burst disc ( right?) so IF the reg fails the tube will see ( could see if full) 3,000psi.
If it is up to these pressures, I need one.

Thanks all for the information to date, even though I am never buying another airgun ( well, I try) I might need to trade for a gauntlet.

I sure dont mean to hijack this thread so if a PM ssuits anyoine thats great.

John
