I think it’s totally ruined the look of the wildcat. They could have done the power mods and kept the tube. I know shot count wouldn’t have been great, but ergonomics would still be awesome. This is a big fail for me. Not sure I like the way FX is headed lately.

The wildcat stock is very ergonomic. So if you want the features of the maverick, and the feel and handling of a wildcat, it seems like a nice option.

Just figures I purchased a FX Wildcat lll in 30cal compact 2 weeks ago and now a new model just like computers. Ya think you have the latest and greatest and they go and prove ya wrong again.

But can you add a plenum to it or does it contradict the bottle gauge location??
I’d rather have a Impact for anything bigger than 22 caliber unless you can bump the plenum up. I tried the 25 caliber in my mk 3 and put it back to 22 where it does what it should. Sounds interesting but would need more plenum. With the bigger bottle and plenum you could drive 25 cal slugs ok.

yeah, but there is a difference between this and the Mav. I wouldn't even say it's smoke and mirrors because in a lot of ways there are new features here. It's an upgraded version of the MK III. It's also got that bullpup nice carry feel for hunting and stalking that the Maverick doesn't have. Meanwhile, all sales are probably nice it's not like they're like selling a bundle of mavericks and wildcats full price and saying their 100% different guns. Even if it's somewhat the same gun it's 2 different styles. I'm a little confused why your taking this offensively or even feeling a need to be defensive. lol. If you prefer the Mav gets a Mav. if you like the old WC get that.

You would not be able to change the Original Wildcat MKIII with this new setup as it would require too many parts to be changed and the stock to be replaced.

I like this style. It has the advantages of the Maverick in this awesome futuristic style. How can you not walk around hunting tiny pests carrying this thing and feel like your Johnny Rico from Star Ship troopers! haha

It's just a "Bottlecat" which is a Maverick with a stock and it's still just for righties. Hey FX, look at the Vulcan 3 mag and get some ideas on how to make an ambi gun.

Question from a Newbie. What weight is considered a "heavy pellet"? I'd like to shoot 18-22 grain slugs and pellets without regulator adjustments.

I sold my Maverick, learn the hard way that anytime the magazine is near your ears it sucks XXXXX and I take it personal alright when 2K of hard earn money causes me ear ringing

I mean I hear you Goldwing, I don’t really understand (the magazine thing) they’re air guns. But then again I’m also pretty deaf in one ear (That darn global war on terrorism). To each his own. But with that being said was attacking the new product necessary? In reality they gave good improvements from one gun to another, and the second gun has different benefits in that type of stock. You saying “Smoke and mirrors” is you being upset cause your ears hurt. It’s annoying because comments like that deter people from trying out something they may not have tried before. Especially when the experienced people dog it for no reason. It’s like the big brother effect which is big on this forum especially cause newbies come here for the experience and knowledge.

you’re absolutely right by saying newbies come here to get experienced views on guns before buying or trying. I do the same as an “experienced” shooter. Problem is, if they’re getting exactly what goldwing stated (smoke and mirrors), even from the members here, they’re not going to get the answers they want. Objectified opinions are what help people make decisions. Maybe someone with tinnitus doesn’t want their ears to ring every time they shoot. That’s a big deterrent for some. Doesn’t bother me at all, but that’s my opinion over someone else. We’re not here to just state facts, we’re here to give our opinions, and hope it helps others.
I personally think they totally ruined the look of the wildcat. Again, my opinion. Goldwing hates the mag placement…..his opinion…. They’re ALL helpful, and needed when someone is looking to spend their hard earned money on such a large purchase.

Great gun. I was thinking the same thing when the Dreamline Power pup came out that I would rather have a Wildcat MKIII with a bottle on it. Great job from someone who has owned a lot fo airguns over the years.
