new fx barrel dimensions needed.

I think what has happened is they changed to a very marginally larger diameter tube when making the slug liners. They are now just a bit tight to fit and may need a light polish just at the breach end. Nothing major. Haven’t heard of any accuracy issues.

Only the brass pellet inlet contacts the receiver but still suspended in o-rings. If the new slug liners fit the stx barrels what would be the need to change anything? I've mixed old and new parts without any problems...on an Impact

yeah the two reps at that big dealer told me it vibrates violently at the breech and wont shoot accurately due to that. i wonder if they had QC issues with the breech having variant larger ID sizes than the OD of barrel.

thanks for the inputs, ill report back what yhe measurements are like when my Crown gets here. but it doesnt sound like it would be a problem

This is a response from Fx support. i am glad i asked them directly

"Hi, No it is not true. To Impact and Crown you can fit a STX barrel no matter the age of the rifle.

Our older models have a smaller diameter (Royale, Bobcat, Cyclone and so on)

Yep, I measured a 2018 Crown versus my brand new Continuum and there is a .0055" difference with the older being the larger. I think that I already indicated in another thread in a different forum for you.

No?
