New FT rig

My LG 110 is out of commission (leaking air cilinder) and with FT season around the corner I don’t want to be without the gun. I don’t have anymore .177 guns in my collection so I decide to detune my Maverick compact .22 for this purpose. I turn reg all the way down and I mean it all the way down, now is like 60 BAR, if I turn screw more reg is completely shut, with hammer spring all the way in (less power)so basically minimum power for this rifle, I’m sending JSB 14.3 at 780FPS, so just under 20FPE power limit for FT

50 yard 6 shoots group of bumbag and tripod, not to bad in my opinion

Group above is before scope elevation adjustment, by the way anyone know BC for JSB 14.3...Strelock don’t have them.

I used .025 for the 14.35, it came from Hard Air Magazine’s chart. In Strelok it was right on the money for my .22 Mrod that I use for field target. But....for my gun the jsb 15.89’s were more accurate and with their better BC of .031 the trajectory difference was negligible even though shooting at about a 30 fps lower velocity to keep under the 20 fpe limit for hunter field target. Your groups look good but the 15.89’s might be worth a look.

I shoot from the left and the magazine of the impact is in the way for me. But I am thinking of a dreamline and possibly getting both a 30 caliber and 177 caliber barrel for it. Your results seem consistent with my thought that I could turn the 177 down to 20 ft lbs. Should be easier than getting there with a 22 caliber Impact.

I have a little Prod that won't shoot over 20 ft lbs with any tune I've tried. It would need a different scope (currently has a 2-7) but that could be used later on the dreamline.... Might be a way to try out FT. It likes H&N FTT pellets better than JSBs but that doesn't mean your Impact will.

Ok so I did some more shooting yesterday and let me tell you this regulator doesn't like 60BAR at all...ES 50FPS. 760 to 810 !?!?!? Sometimes I could get 5-6 shoots within 10FPS spread and then the next one +/- 40FPS

I found out that my transfer port has low and high power ports so I switched to low and BANG 560FPS at 60BAR...much better, I raised reg to reach 780FPS what brings me to 90 BAR reg setpoint. I run out of time but ES was somewhere around 10FPS, need to do a little bit more testing.

One more issue I got is that my HS is still on the minimum and PW doesn't work at all, which tells me that I need to switch to a lighter hammer weight, correct me if I'm wrong

So was running out of pellets and thanks to @aimright👍👍👍I ordered JSB 15.9

50 y of tripod seating on bumbag, if you notice I shoot the same target, on the left are two groups with 14.3 JSB. So far I like 15.9 better than 14.3, again thanks @aimright!

If I didn’t have a chrono I will be more than happy with groups like this, but because I have one I’m not, ES over 60 shots was somewhere around 30FPS!?!?!? Need to get a lighter hammer

Can some confirm if I got the parts number correct for hammers?

Ok guys, a little update...so my order came from FX and part #18041 is definitely not a hammer weight is some kind of spacer but at the same time I ordered 13g hammer so I decide to chop it down and best I could do with hand tools was 9g. I didn't have much time last week but yesterday I spend a couple of hours with a new setup and works much better than 11g hammer but not where I want it so I still need to order 7g hammer

Today was the first match for me and the gun did really well, I was kind of surprised how comfortable was to shoot, I dropped 7 targets out of 60.
